% age of players who are in profit?

    Seen this asked in many forums and the number quoted can range from 1-10% of players online. Is there an actual answer to this that is close to be factual or does everyone just guess?

    ive looked at opr in the past and have found that basicly any player who has even a little profit usually fall into the top 90% ranking wise

    so that would generally imply that about 10% make profit and 90% are losing players

    however its probably important to note that a large amount of the losing players who fall into that 90% are accounts that have played a handful of tournaments and then never played again.

    so if ur interested in % of consistant returning players who are profitable i would imagine its pretty difficult to figure out

    Also skewed, since lots of cash and sng players might be down in mtt's ;) Figure on casual players its 10% or less, but for professionals it has to be a lot more than 10%.. Not sure if there is any study on this tho..

    Nah it's better/funnier when ppl have 10k games with 100 abi and still down loads. Guess I can see why 20 abi would be worse though, but could still be 180 mans mainly.

    i mean there are ppl out there that just enjoy playing the game and arent in it for profit

    the same way ppl play craps or black jack at casinos, they know they arent going to beat the game in the long run but they enjoy playing it.

    if ur able to afford it and enjoy it then theres nothing rly wrong with it. im sure they view it as paying for entertainment

    im not saying every losing player has this mind frame but im sure some do

    I had to delete a few posts in this thread because they were quoting losing players stats.. It was easy for this thread to lead in that direction, but lets keep the thread away from individual players..

    Whats wrong with posting a losing players graph without specifying who said losing player is? I find such graphs highly motivating.

    I took away the graphs when I took away the losing players that were mentioned in other posts.. It was borderline, but best to just keep this generalized per the rules on the forum instead of mentioning anyone specific..
