For the small amount your EV is reduced, wouldn't the stack merge actually cancel that out? It's like getting a double-up as you reach the final table. The amount of chips you gain from the stack merge should greatly increase your chances of ending in the final three where the real money is. Doesn't this account for something?

I play small/micro stuff and on a weeknight register between 7-10pm. On a normal day, that gives me one shot each at the $10 superstack, daily dollar, $3r, daily doubles, and $5.50 cashout that have decent prize pools. Everything else available have tiny prize pools. If I play 15 tourneys in a night, that means 5/15 tables I have going give me a chance at something decent. With METs, that's 15 tables between those five tourneys. That means every table up is a chance at a nice payout. Like you said, how often are you going to final table 2/4 or 2/5 tourneys?
Also, if enough big buyin tourneys are multi entry, wouldn't it be hard for the top players to play as many tourneys as they normally would? If they are four barrelling five tourneys instead of playing 20 different tourneys, wouldn't that leave some tourneys without that reg? -
I take it all back - I do kinda love these. Tournies are still prty soft (as long as you pick your spots and avoid a cpl of the most reg-heavy tournies) and although it doesnt do most people any favors equity-wise, it definitely makes things more interesting/fun, especially at the start of the day. it also makes some mid-stakes tournies about 100000x more playable.
basically, if you're smart, and stay within your means, METs are dopeness. still think it sucks that theyre taking over the FTOPS with it, just because i'm kind of a purist, but that ftops ME is gonna be absurd. -
yes, please leave the current 3 majors alone (brawl, 750k, mulligan) and add new majors as MET

Seems like the smart thing to do, would be to take all that guarantee money and split it into more tournaments w/ 1 entry per person. Say instead of 1 double duece we now have 2. Or instead of $26BI $64k guarantee we could have 4 $16k guarantees run at the same time or close to the same time.
That would satisfy the need to multi table as well as give players better value. I wonder how many entries the MAers are going to have in this upcoming FTOPS. -
This would be great for the players, not so great for full tilt, there would be more overlays and more equity in each mtt. Full Till will always go with the option that makes them the most money and credit to them they've been more innovative than any other site at extracting the maximum rake from players, but doing it in a way which keeps people interested and actually gets most of them excited. They definitely made more out of me last week!

Totally awesome ftp. Please keep some multi entry tournaments in the schedule.

Wasn't sure about them at first, but love them now. Especially being in school, I can reg for a lot shorter time period and still get a decent amount of games in.
