  1. FTP $2-$4 NLH

I open from MP w/AdQh. BB calls. Flop comes Ah7c9c. BB checks, I bet $26. BB min-raises to $52. At this point I have him on a flush draw w/a gutter, the nut flush draw w/a medium kicker or possibly a straight flush draw - hands like Jc10c, 6c5c, AcJc, Ac10c, 10c8c. Other possibilities are 77 and 99, although I would have expected him to reraise pre w/medium-pair holdings oop. I can't put him on AA (one on the board and one in my hand) and I think he's reraising pre w/AK oop as well, so I'm not overly concerned about that. I'm a dog to a straight flush draw, but I feel that's the least likely draw of the drawing scenarios.

I shove ($388). There's $106 in the pot that I'd like to pick-up, I want to protect my pair and put him to a tough decision for his stack. He calls and shows AsAc.

One other point: The turn comes the Kh. If I'm seriously concerned about AK, I can probably get away from the hand on the turn if I only call his flop min-raise (although I don't see calling his min-raise. I'm either folding (very unlikely) or reraising).
Am I an overly aggressive idiot?
  2. Why re raise allin here? unless you think he will call with a weaker hand.

Most of the time you put yourself ahead of his range as you said so why don't you get more value by betting an amount he can call then shoving the turn. I just see more long tern +EV by making him pay more with his weaker hands.

So basically im of the opinion that you will only be called by a hand that is beating you.

Agreed. Knowing the stack sizes and whether or not you had any reads on dude would be helpful (especially if and when he had min raised like that previously in a hand that had a showdown, to help narrow his potential range).

The min raise would've raised a flag with me. My first concern would've been a set, albeit not AA for the reason you mentioned.
  4. Thanks for the feedback. I agree that the min raise was fishy. Whatever he had, I think I should have slowed down based on that.

In terms of the shove, my line was to get him to make a decision for all his chips (approx. $400) on a draw as a slight dog. It was a gambling move that went awry due to my poor read. If he's on a flush draw + outs he should be either smooth calling or shoving. In retrospect, his min raise didn't make any sense if he had a drawing hand.
