Am I playing too tight?

    I feel kind of bad posting so many questions so I am going to write two hands thats I am truly concerned that I am playing to tight. My goal is to make the final table and I was top three in chips until I had JJ vs str8 (posted previously). So I manage to regather myself and then these two hands happen in a matter of 3 hands. I really do not have much info on the guy since I just got moved, but on pokeredge it says hes tight. WIth AQ my intial reaction was that he had low M and trying to get lucky. The second time I folded 88 cause I was out of position and he had more chips. Is it ok to fold these hands if ur main goal is to make the final table?
