Was watching poker after dark online out of boredom and saw that Ivan Demidov felt european players were tougher than americans. I got into an argument with a buddy of mine about this. Basically I just feel that europeans in live poker are in general tougher than americans. But online it's not even close, americans are far superior. Do others agree with me here? (mostly regarding live, friend agreed with online).

asian people are very aggressive
-
Everyone online fking sucks...no matter what country you are in, everyone just sucks...and without run good accts/RNG nut huggers, they wouldn't win. Live I have no opinion on, but every country I've seen has sucked tremendously...to name the top ones (no offense to top ranked players) but Brazil, Germany, Austria, Denmark and of course US players blow.
-
Lol bef99hwk, the discussion wasn't meant to be about how good people are. Obv majority of ppl suck everywhere in the world. I was just talking about comparing euros to americans.

Lil overboard on the rant...but I get beat by both equally so they both suck and I stick to the above....and since there are more countries in Europe than the US (obv cuz it's one country), I'm gonna go with Euros....poker was here first anyway.

i love how someone always wants to post a single hand in a broad discussion as if it means anything at all.
and all of the euro sites online are WAY easier than the american sites. euros just suck in general, averrage american player is much better. -
Math,
Got plenty more where that came from. Some from the Germans, English, even the French. Albeit I see some US players this bad, but generally speaking Americans are better I agree with you on that point. -
Argentinians are hands down the toughest.
-
You forgot Russians for the most part...the shit i see from Germans and Russians make my ears and eyes bleed.
-
I think this has nothing to do with where they are from and everything to do with how easy it is for a random donk to deposit
-
If you're from anywhere that ends in "insk" or "inki" or has one of those "o"s with dots above it, i'm not folding to you.
-
Its gotten so bad that I check where everybody is from before I even sit down at the table to see if any germans are playing. The reason I do this is because those idiots suck at the pokah so bad it tilts the fuck out of me when they suck out 2 out of every 3 times.
I generally pick a different table so i dont get so tilted. -
i also notice that the euros on tilt and stars are worse than the usa players quite consistently

Im a european who lives in America, and I suck, what does that mean?..

Lol, what a fucking joke, give Americans credit when we deserve it. Just because it's hard to admit the damned Yank in a baseball hat eatingsBurgers and a Coke kicks your ass at a game doesn't mean its not true ;)
We've had the game the longest and we have the most dominating players in all fields of the game right now. It's starting to change, and there are tons of great players from everywhere now, and in ten years its my hope that the poker world will be really diverse, but for the most part I still think America has the most dominant players.
Put one person on the EPT and then on the WPT and tell me which tournament fields are harder. Look at the high stakes winners lists and see how many are American. Ivan Demidov is wrong.
I wish I could put you guys behind me when I play on Euro sites. These players aren't good, they are just insane. They do things that make no sense. They never rep anything. It's just celebrated, being aggressive, and once in a while if you just keep pressing the raise button you'll do something that looks really cool, but it doesn't account for all the times you got 200 BBs in with a bare top pair no kicker on a 10-3-2 board.
I just think the culture in Europe is more likely to breed educated players. Education is more celebrated in most European countries I've spent time in, where as in America I was repeatedly told i was a loser growing up because a guy who plays sports shouldn't be into reading.
However Americans are three kinds of crazy and depraved Europeans will never hope to be, and that makes us a little more batshit at the tables, and I've always thought that was a good thing :D

Nobody was arguing the fact that Americans are generally better than Europeans.

You're trying too hard. -
Bad players suck, mediocre players are mediocre, and good players are good, while great players are great, and they live all over that world.
Probably more HSMTTers in America than anywhere else, I'm sure the same could be said for nosebleed cash games, though Monaco probably has an insane nosebleed cash game regular per capita. -
I'm English and i'm FKin terrible... Hope that helps...

IntelliPoker <------ answers said question.

if it wasn't for luck bef ships everything and the sites wouldn't be running anymore
