I've finally caught up with the rest of the online poker community and downloaded a trial version of Poker Tracker.
I understand a lot of the data, but I'm not sure how best to analyze it. I know the basics such as stealing from a tight player, reviewing which hands I've lost with, etc. More specifically, what numbers do you look for in your opponents and how do you use that to your advantage? What stats do you review to improve your play?
Thanks in advance for the tips. -
It's nice to see who's limping too often so you can iso raise from LP when they limp. (35/5 type players, etc) Also nice to be able to easily identify who is raising with too wide of a range so 3-betting preflop is more automatic. (30/25 type players) And you can see who is playing solid (12/10-ish) so you can assume they know what they're doing and you can make them fold with more sophisticated plays that a calling station couldn't interpret. Really, the great thing about PT is the ability to massive multi-table while still having a great read on your table.
I review tournaments by just putting the HH in a replayer, but for cash games it's great to go to the session summary, (session notes, in PT2) sort your hands by biggest wins or biggest losses so you can find and analyze those hands quickly. I don't really use it to its full capacity but these are a few things I find it useful for. -
Awesome info all. Thank you!
