    I'm just glad everything got sorted out. I want to thank the good citizens of the poker community for sharing all this valuable info on how to protect ourselves. Annette from what I can tell you escaped that without a scratch.

    This is sooooo sick..... can only hope you recover what was lost annette.... and that they find the scumbag and hang him from his nads. Wasn't there a thread last week or so about a guy looking to dump money? Said he had like a million FT accounts?

    If you were hacked and the hacker plays on the account "legitimatly" (ie isn't colluding to dump to another player), then when the account is recovered you don't have any recourse and are stuck with whatever is left in the account. Now, obviously, stuff like this usually isn't caught this quickly and the player who got hacked is usually out a lot of money, but in situations like this where people are vigilent and looking out and the hacker gets caught in a relatively quick amount of time, it isn't impossible for the account to actually be higher than it was beore it got hacked. Just curious what people would do if that were in fact the case.

    If players lost do to collusion then it may be a little different.

    Weird situation you bring up Gamble. I think the sites should take care of it themselves... so if your roll is $50K before the hacker gets in, regardless of whether the hacker wins or loses you will still have 50K as your bankroll. Having something like that would lead to more hacking im sure, as in players with big rolls giving their PWs out knowing a "buddy hacker" could have fun and his roll is still guaranteed.

    That isn't a possible solution, because of the point you bring up. If the sites refunded people for being hacked then there would be a large number of people logging onto their accounts from different IP addresses, playing big games, and if they lose email the sites and say "omg I got hacked give me my money back", which obviously isn't fair to the people that they freeroll.

    the scammer was up over 50k at the plo game. then they took the hacker off right after the hacker lost almost 35k back to the guy he was playing. if they stopped him at the 50k point she would have been up

    sure there is a way to lose that much, some pots at the highest stakes reach about 200k every day...its very easy to lose that much money, and quick too. just saw another post and saw ozzy is minus 500k in 23 hours of play!

    this is terrible...I hope the money is recovered. I'm suprised that she kept that much money in her account. I'm sure she didn't expect this to happen, but putting money in excess of what you need in an interest bearing account is always a good move.

    Hello everyone, sorry to hear about Annette_15's account being hacked. The actual phone number for Ultimate Bet support is 1 866 605 0311. I gave them a call when I saw it happening, I hope they took care of this for you Annette_15. I informed them of the problem, so let's hear some updates if this was taken care of or not. Lemme know Annette or anyone else needs more info. on UB support. I've had to call them about a problem on UB as well, so that's why I called. Best of luck, and see you all at the tables!

    For anyone that has seen my comp it is actually 2 different comps both with dual sceens. One I only use for poker/pokertrackers, the other for everything else. Having 2 comps is a good way to avoid this sort of thing. Also for Annette she should change her passwords on all the other sites she plays, since alot of people prolly use the same password over and over again. Fk the hackers!

    I feel like annette should keep the + money only because if the situation is reversed the beneficiaries of Annettes loss wouldnt send the money back imo. They took a +EV gamble of playing against a scammer who is likely a poor poker player, they got f'ed by the deck likely, and lost, sometimes this happens such is life. They do not deserve their money back just like annette wouldnt get jack shit if the situation was reversed.

    From what I understand you can't from just that in itself. The problem comes with the worms/trojans these animals will send to pull this stuff.

    In short don't open any attachments you weren't expecting and even at that never open it if your virus or spyware program detects a problem.....
