  1. I was playing in a B and M tournament, in early position.

I got dealt A9 suited..so I raised it up double the blinds.

The player to my left raised it up even more, about double my bet.

    I call.

    Then the flop comes A 9 A.

I'm first to act so I push all in and get called.

The player had A J os.

A rag comes on the turn.

    Then a J on the river...gg me.

So it happens in real life as well as online.
  2. Man, something similar happened to me last night...

I'm holding pocket fives (~tehe), and the flop comes back 45Q rainbow. The two people in the pot with me are complete and total fishes, so I think I'm about to get paid. I bet, I get a raise, I raise, we cap. Turn card brings me a Q. I bet, he raises, I raise, we cap. I *suspect* that he holds a Q (at least), even a fish has to be mildly retarded to keep raising with anything less than that. I put him off pocket Q because I was sure that even this guy would have raised them preflop.

Turn card brings a 4... damn. I bet, he raises, I raise, we cap. At most other tables I would have checked and called, but I had seen too many people betting, raising, and capping at this table with two pair or less and I really didn't think he could beat my boat.

My read was right to begin with, the guy had the Q (and a J) and he stole my pot with running cards.

    Frustrating, eh? lol
