Probably go play the $400 NL.
Beware who you are next to at the table in the prelims - there are some top players in there too.
Last time around at this thing (last fall) I played the $600 NL. Some guy next to me in the second hour starts raising the other end of the table (the weak end) in position almost every hand for a while.
He takes em all down on flop, maybe turn... and flips up his cards as he rakes the pots. He was playing ATC and running over those guys. I was impressed. All I remembered at the time was the guy introduced himself as Ryan, with a few random details. Just thought he was a good player but didn't know anything else.
Saw pictures of people playing the wsop from p5's live this summer and realized that I recognized the dude's face.
It was Ryan Welch.
Not fair to leave out screenname or last name and conceal identity man! ;)

That's the point. That shouldn't fit together but he made an amusing exhibition for a while. For example, T 4, J 5, 3 8 etc. none even hitting the board. C-bet or C/R to take the pot and then flipped up the cards each time. He could have played those hands blind without looking at the cards because he was playing the weak-tight players at the other end of the table.
And yes I have no doubt it was ryan welch. -
So you're saying he ran well in that nobody else ever made a hand either? If he had run into actual hands you wouldn't think it was so great. Not that ryanwelch is bad or something, he's definitely a great player - just putting things into perspective here.

Point taken, Frank. I don't remember the board textures to know if he got guys to lay down a pair or not tho he probably did.

My real point was that unless you know what someone looks like, you never know who the guy sitting next to you might be - or what they are capable of.
The story was just background..... -
I did online reg just to be safe but if you're heading in tomorrow I'd save the $16 bucks
-
i may head down on monday for the 500....not too sure tho

Is this the brand new one that is right after Hilltop (currently where I am staying)????
The last time I was down here, the Hilltop was the last place before the Casino, and now there is a new one, is the new one Bellisimo? -

Don't forget that you get extra off (i think 10%) if you show your Foxwoods card when you show up.
