I know that quite a few of the top pros have had thousands of dollars from their accounts just disappear. i know of one that had at least 60K just leave. I have heard the rumour that an internal employee has gone and accessed accounts while servers were down. It took over 2 weeks for UB to respond to these high level players and some have still not got their money back. Any one else having problems like this?
-
Not any truth to that rumour allegation at all. No one's funds are in jeopardy. If anyone thinks they have an issue, simply email into UB and request your account history or have them check into the potential account error that they are seeing.

Any truth to the rumor that KrazyKanuck wuvs Ranchgirl??????
Sorry Shawn - guess you guys will have to fight over me. -
Have requested hand history 5..read five fucking times..no answer.
GG Integrity -
simply email them.
lol -
I was gonna say the same thing betbrett
You have been an ambassador for you way too long to remember what their customer support is really like KK
I send them emails reguarding failed tournaments, never get replies, my time has value
and it is simply more worthwhile to *ATTEMPT* to cash my money out and say fuck you to UB and forget about them for good -
lol..wore out one keyboard..might as well start on a new one.

you'd have to do what you feel you have to do Jeff. I'm saying that they will address each complaint. They are still playing catchup, but making good progress in all areas.
cheers and GL

For what it's worth, I'd been meaning to cash out some of my UB money for a while but was waiting until some of the dust settled on all these issues. I finally requested a $1k cash out on Friday night, and it was in my neteller account Sunday morning. I was not afraid of losing my money, but I was concerned it would take quite a bit longer. I think things are working better again.
As far as this rumor is concerned, I don't see any way that 1) this could be allowed to happen (how can you access accounts when your database servers are down?), so I don't believe it, and 2) if it did somehow happen, I can't believe UB wouldn't take full responsibility and refund people's money.
I'm a fan of a lot of different sites, and I have hardly played UB during all these issues, but I think rumors like this cause a lot more unnecessary problems. -
I requested a $500 cash out on Saturday and it reached my Neteller Monday morning. Pretty standard from my previous dealings. I'm not worried.

I've thought about this a lot lately. Its kind of like during the depression when there were runs on the banks. A poker site can have issues with the servers/gameplay and I think most folks will ultimately tolerate it. BUT when they start fucking with money, most folks are going to just get plain nervous.
In the case of UB, I wondered if there might be a tipping point where rumors begin to circulate which leads to more withdrawals leading to more rumors, and on and on. While I don't think it will happen here with UB, it seems obvious to me that one of these companies will likely make a series of mistakes and bring on failure. That will be a dark day for online poker, but in the current regulatory environment, it should not be a surprise if it does occur.
This is a major, hidden reason for all of us to put some energy into doing what we can against the gambling bills; because in the long run they are working to prevent our game from finding more transparency and legitimacy.

George Bailey</A>: [the staff celebrates closing the building and loan company with only two dollars remaining, to stay in business] Get a tray for these two great big important simoleans here.
Uncle Billy: We'll save 'em for seed.
George Bailey: A toast! A toast! A toast to Mama Dollar and to Papa Dollar, and if you want to keep this old Building and Loan in business, you better have a family real quick.
Cousin Tilly: I wish they were rabbits. -
One of my favorite thinks about ub is UBuddy. I was just wondering if this is ever gonna work again.
-
UB is not a bank. Banks take deposits and make loans. They are only required to keep a small portion of their liabilities (customer deposits) in liquid instruments. The same money can be deposited and re-loaned several times (multiplier effect). When runs happen on banks it's because their liquidity is challenged. Much harder to do now than in the 30's because of the regulation that came out of that period.
UB should have their customer deposits in segregated funds (they may refer to that in their info but I haven't bothered to look - I know I have seen it referred to on PS) so that customer funds are totally liquid. Their operating funds and capital to run the business would be held separately i.e. they wouldn't be operating the business with the "capital" from their depositors. If all their customers withdrew it wouldn't hurt their business liquidity. I agree, though, that there is still a good case for regulation of all sites to make sure this happens so that players are protected from the crooks who might be operating sites out there. -
you would have to hope that they don't mingle funds....my wife and I run a business on the side and the first bit of advice was to get a business account and do NOT mix the two...most businesses that work with cash should also be doing this so I don't think there is that much of an issue here
