  1. I just bought a new house and we are moving in 2 weeks, just wondering if anyone uses a myfi card & if so how good does it work? The kid at Verizon said I should have no problems butI think he's telling me what I want to hear. I play 4-5 tables max and most often 1-3. Thanks for any help!!!!!!!
  2. worst purchase/contract of my life.

    do NOT get it

  3. I have the usb verizon wireless card, i use it every day, works great for poker, web, watching movies online etc. The only downside is they cap you at 5gb of data/month. Sprint has one for the same price but it's unlimited and prolly just as reliable seeing as how both sprint/vzw are cdma and share towers.

  4. Thanks for the info.

  5. I have the Verizon mifi hotspot. you can put up to 5 computers on it and it runs about 60 bucks a month. I don't use it daily but more keep it as a back up for when I am in the car or when Comcast goes down ( which is often) but its fast and well worth it to me.
  6. I have a motorolla droid for verizon. I have the full internet service for the phone itself ($30/month). The cool thing is there is a free app called pdanet. With this i can tether my cell to my laptop and connection to internet thought it, if my landline goes down! Saved my hundrends if not thousands!

  7. i might just have a buggy one but it is incredibly worsthless.

i use it as a backup/with my laptop, and just all of a sudden it claims my usuage skyrocketed and i got hit with crazy overage fees. THat and it is constantly diconnecting/reconnecting itself.

It just sits there now in case my interent goes down, good use of 60$ a month imo!

maybe you are in a poor service area?

as long as Verizon gets good service in your area, you should be fine.
  11. I have been using the MiFi almost daily since it came out and have rarely had any problems. In my area it will support multitabling (6-8 tables) on my laptop while also running an Ipad and iPhone. I got it early enough that I have unlimited data but I consider it one of my better purchases.

  12. Just got the newest HTC and no app is needed...its right there in the connection options...
  13. I have the usb aircard for $60mo. Have used it twice in about a year as a back-up. Has worked well. Can also take it on the road and use it when they want to charge you for interwebz.
  14. +1 to verizon USB air card. I get a lot more use out of it than most I'd say due to traveling a lot for live tournies. Thing has never failed me, it's really fast for an air card, and gets service basically everywhere (except for random areas like high in hotels or in the middle of no where roads).

  15. MiFi Hotspot is the best thing I have purchased recently. If 5 gb isn't enough you can get 10 gb a month at a higher charge. I have had no problems with the connection, even while driving down the road (obv dont play and drive).
  16. Just had to use my MiFi back up last night and worked with no problems at all on 4 different computers. Im pretty sure the 5 GB plan would be enough if you are just playing poker and browsing the web, however if you are downloading a lot and using youtube or similar sites you might start to go over.

  17. I am RVing around the US for a year and have been using the Verizon MiFi for poker pretty much everywhere. I can play up to 24 tables (my normal max) with little or no problem most of the time. There are some random disconnect/freeze issues from time to time that can be frustrating, but they are not common and are easily dealt with by just considering them bad beats. I use a Wilson Electronics booster placed about 10 inches from the MiFi and it increases my reception greatly (so long as there is some to begin with, it won't boost a nonexistent signal).<input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">

most definately reccomend the air card over the mifi unless you're using the mifi as back up internet supply for a house full of players

  20. Does anyone know how much data you use for one day, just as a backup. Verizon offers packages for 75MB for one day. Is that enough?
  21. That should be enough for 1 day but it might get close depending on volume. I use AT&T and 6 90 mans took up about 14mb:
