Poker is not all what it seems. There is very little fame. There is hardly any glory. 90% of all who try will go broke or decide to quit. 90% of the people you will come into contact with playing this game are in 3 categories. They are either degens, scumbags or compulsive liars. The other 10% are decent people. Almost every friend i have made through poker has been shady. They either dont know how to control money habits, or they are losers, bums, mouchers. I guess im just blowing off some steam right now, poker is a tough game to make it through. And it seems that since I started playing several years back that I come in contact with alot more trash than I did when I wasnt playing. -
lol deo I did that once the "insert you gonna get raped pic here" before. I got a ban warning.

I'll leave it to espn to sugarcoat poker.

ok I think this has to be prefaced to say, if you are new to poker AND young then what the OP says could be true, but at the same time just being young will lead you to trust people you shouldn't and all forms of hobbies and work could lead you to undesirable people.

haha my bad i guess

well i guess ill give some input
in my experience with online poker (have little live experience) most "grinders" are very respectable, honest people.
a lot of grinders are college educated, and there are very few who have terrible reputations. maybe the casual player could be different, because of ignorance maybe, or even alcohol, who knows how many people are drunk.
all im saying is, stop trying to give poker a bad rap, we already have enough of those people.
poker has been an amazing experience for me, and i have had very little encounters with what the OP speaks of. but who knows, maybe im lucky and avoid the assholes -
IMO
90% of poker players are ignorant, narcisistic, and assholes
90% of the general polualce are ignorant, narcisistic, and assholes
Just the way of the world -
