1. lol, never played a 5 card draw donkament in my life, GL me!
what is even a good hand to value bet lol? like 2 pair or better?? =/ any tips are appreciated

edit: also, if you're dealt a pair, is it generally good to discard 3?
  2. i have no idea what I'm doing...lol

  3. I've only ever played 5cd in OT tourneys/sngs...I figuired it can't be wrong to play ubertight though.

  4. i think it's better to discard three than keep the pair + an ace, so:

2877A, discard the A28, keep the sevens. But meh, I don't really know what I'm doing either.

  5. i am, admittedly, very clueless as well. i have played two >$5 6-handed 5 card draw sngs as a warm up and won both(obv double brag), but that was b/c i raised AFC on the bubble and nobody wanted play. But, I have no fucking clue if any of the decisions I make are remotely close to not terrible.

  6. This is exactly why I'm shipping this event* :)

*Spoiler alert: I'll actually be busting out before most of you fish
  7. llol playing this is tilting me so hard, i feel like the biggest fish ever...im just going to fire up the daily 80k and put this on the backburner haha....fold to cash imo!

  9. Easy game.
  10. seriously, what is a decent 3-betting range preflop?

  11. Also, don't draw three to a pair. Draw two to a pair. You have better odds if you draw to two because you can make two pair or 3 of a kind. Don't use these tips against me.
  12. I used to play years ago and I think its best to discard 2 when you have an Ace and a pair because:

    1) It allows you to disguise your hand and you can represent trips. When you discard 3 then know that you have EXACTLY a pair (or worse).

    2) 2 cards to draw to either trips or Aces up is a better play than 3 cards drawing for just trips. (of course you can still make 2 pair)

No math behind this but I seem to remember the better players mixing it up this way.

You have the SAME odds of drawing 2 pair if you discard 2 or 3 since obviously when you look at the 1st of your 3 discards you can draw that same card with one of your last 2 just as easily as you can if you keep one random card.

However, there is an advantage to keeping an Ace since Aces up obviously will beat all other 2 pair hands.
  15. makes sense jetsjets

  16. sigh I did this in the M scoop and obviously I'm at a table full of nits. I figured I would get at least 1 retard at my table worse than me but I guess not.

Is it standard to just check 2 pair behind after the draw?
