  1. I am bad at poker, but I seem to play like shit if I dont accumulate lots of chips early. Anyone else have this problem?
  2. no i freak out when i accumulate chips early them bluff/gamble them away
  3. no. especially in the 180s. If you can usually get to final 40 with 4k in chips, you can double up twice easily and get sucked out on on the final table bubble by the cl with an ave stack and get 10th for a waste of time.

seroiusly though, ur chips mean nothing early. no need to accumulate.
  4. i know thhs hence the reason i suck at poker I am easily the biggest donk on this site

  5. If you think that then you probably have boundless potential....
  6. We'll see what happens. I wish I'd stop playing like shit.

  7. I used to worry about this a lot. I have been getting better at it lately though.

Ussally what bothers me the most is losing the first hand i play. For some reason if i lose the 1st hand i almost always bust out early. Have been working on this though too
  8. Sometimes I do, sometimes I can stay pretty patient for a long time, it usually depends on the structure of the tournament for me.
  9. accumulating chips early is great and i definitlely try and see flops with alot of speculative hands but once the antes kick in it's relatively easy to find +ev spots to get ur chips in preflop and double up.

  10. no reason to have this problem. "a chip and a chair" is a very accurate statement because anything can happen as long as you are still alive in a tournament. a lot of people start panicking as soon as they drop below 20bb.

if you ever are questioning your shortstack play just watch someone like PearlJammer or Waco play; these are types of players who ive never seen panic when they drop low in relation to the big blind. the key is never giving up because that one time where you just donk off that 12 bb or so stack with like 60 players to go could be the time when you were going to go on an insane rush and make the final table or even win.

  12. Chipping up is nice but not necessary. The only problem of being a short stack ninja is A) your gonna have to not run into a monster when you push on blinds and B)Gonna have to win a few key allin pre confrontations to chip up. If both of these happen you can chip up pretty quickly late in a tournament. Always remember that anything can happen.
  13. Ok, I usually don't post here because I suck and I have maybe the worst grammar ever. I'm guessing you play the micro tourines, if that is the case I had the same problem. If i dropped below 1100 in the 10/20 level i would spazz out and try to gambol it up to get them back, which 80% of the time i would just bust out of the tourny. It took some doing and some patience but I'm actually ok with it now. I just wait and im not afraid to shove when i feel im ahead.. I guess what im saying is that don't get to exiceted if you dump half ur stack trying to hit some flops to accumulate chips. All u have to do is actually comeback once or twice from a low stack early and you won't ever feel panicked agan....gl
  14. omg, rcr is the greatest videogame ever. the pipe and rapid motion slays villains.
  15. this is the reason i suck at MTT. Being a HU sng player i have this urge to win the tourneys right away and it leaks into my MTT game.. uGH
  16. I have never heard of accumulating chips early. What is that? I never get AJ or suited connectors until the blinds kick in.
  17. Some of my best finishes in rebuys have been when I had the minimum amount of chips at the break.

Early chip accumulation although nice it is by no reason necessary to win.

Last time I won the $20 with 1035 entries I was 3730 at first break, 6115 at second break
  18. yeah. know it happens. i'm just an idiot. made four final tables this month but in all four accumulated chips early.
