I started a similar thread a couple days ago but one if the mods moved it into a thread that was already running. The only hitch with that was most the people that are already playing on UB/AP are active in that thread.

Just in the past couple of days they have made a step 10 option that pays out in cash because Adrienne the rep here on Pocket Fives went to bat with the poker room manager.
It pays the top three spots only just like a normal SNG. I am trying to compile idea's from anyone that is willing to contribute that is interested in playing step SNG's for cash not just the people that are already playing on UB/AP.
They may be willing to "tweek" step 10 only at this point obviously because it rarely fills up at there is a significant rake at the number 10 step, if they are presented with some decent idea's from us.
This is the current payout structure:
1) $10,125
2) $6075
3) $4050
My input on the step 10 payout:
1) $8000
2) $5000
3) $3365.70
4) Step 10
5) Step 9
6) Step 8
7) Step 8
8) Step 7
9) Step 7
My thoughts behind this are that it will keep the upper end of the steps pretty active and make it less attractive for the pros to buy directly into step 10. Not saying this is the best structure, just and idea. Anyone else care to contribute? -
dpnt play there - maybe i should as i like it - wish stars and tilt get their act together and add them

I am going to go out on a limb and hope this will make a liar out of me.
"stars and FTP will NEVER add cash step sit and go's."
I am one of the people that badgered Stars back in 2007 to add step sit and go's ( I still have the emails from the poker room manager) and they fought it as long as they could and when they finally did add them they made the prizes for poker packages not cash because they felt that the steps would hurt the regular sit and go traffic. They eluded that cash may come at some point but it never will happen.
It is the same with FTP I do feel at one point Doug was all in favor of running them for cash but the upper management won't cooperate.
I started working on UB to run the steps right after party poker pulled out of the US market. Hard to believe it has been almost 5 years.
I don't see Debo, KK or Annie Duke post on Pocket 5's anymore but I use to aggravate the bejezus out of them. Annie finally gave in and actually put a really good structure together ... but again paying out the prizes in packages not cash which is part of the reason they have not taken off.
The other part is the bad image that the old management / owners created for themselves. It does appear they are trying to turn that around. I have read of no issues about cashing out etc in a while. They even have E-check set up!
I am glad that UB/ AP are willing to work on the step's for cash. I think they realize they are going to have to do some things that the other sites will not do to bring recreational players like myself back to their site.
So back to the original question ... still looking for input on the level 10 payout structure? They only way this is going to happen is if the players that are interested get involved. Otherwise it will die on the vine.
