AP points and rakeback

    I just posted this in the Cereus meeting place thread but figured it could be worth a thread on its own incase you dont read that one.

    From Feb 28th, AP points are deducted from MGR so convert all your points now.

    Here is the email I received. Seems really absurd to be doing this...

    *** IF YOU SPEND YOUR POINTS AFTER THE 28TH FEBRUARY THEY WILL BE CHARGED AGAINST YOUR RAKE AND THEREFORE AGAINST YOUR RAKEBACK ***

    From 1st March AP and B will start deducting the cost of all points you spend in the store and on cash bonuses from your rake –
    This will therefore affect your rakeback

    Example before 1st March

    Rake $500
    Spend $200 in points – No deduction
    Rakeback = 30% of $500 or $150

    ---------------------------------------------------------

    Example From 1st March Onwards

    Rake $500
    Spend $200 in points – deduction of $200 from Rake
    Rakeback = 30% of $300 or $90

    As you can see in the above example you will cost yourself $60 of rakeback

    So if you’ve got points kicking about and there’s anything you need like an iPod or tickets to The Masters Golf in Augusta spend your points today if you can and avoid the deductions!

    this is bs. I actually noticed that my rakeback for january was lower than usual. i did spend some points on tournaments. this is ridiculous. this means that getting AP points is now pointless. who decided this? the rakeback site or the poker site? we should try to change this

    Whatever that meant! How does AP/UB's loyalty program get affected anyway from rakeback? Only entity I can see profiting from this is the RAKEBACK AFFILIATE who would have to pay less rakeback now onwards. Does FTP even do this? What's happening to these people!

    Yeah FTP do this. Say you buy a 216 ticket with points. You actually take a bigger hit to your MGR then $216. Times are tough, money is not flowing like it use to so sites gotta get theirs.

    Also I think affliates get screwed like you, if your MGR is less they get less money off your play. That's why they are telling you to spend your points now.

    i thought the whole time ap/ub did this, or i would of played at ub forever ago. FTP has done this forever and it blows, ON TOP OF IF YOU CASHOUT MONEY NOT ONLY DO YOU PAY A FEW BUT ALSO GET HIT WITH IT ON YOUR RAKEBACK

    its total BS, especially for the low stakes guys who depend quite heavily on UB points (not so ultimate now)/ and rakeback, who have become accustomed to that for a good part of their profits.

    Monthly Gross Revenue. Basically how much rake you paid minus any deductions like spending points or earning bonus money.

    You can convert points in the cashier in the FAME section, or whatever its called on UB.
