  1. Sorry, hoping this isn't a repost but I just opened my home page, msn.com, and a front page headline was "Online Poker Cheating Blamed on Employee". Also story mentioned P5 and 2+2. Pretty proud of you guys for making this happen. To be honest, I often spent time on this site just reading some poker discussion but mainly laughing at the juvenile antics in off topic. As an amateur, not even part-time woman player, I applaud the tenacity and intelligence that has been displayed. Kudos.

Edit: Oops, just noticed that I was logged in under my husband's name. I am vegashobo - vegasvagrant is a male. Sorry!
  2. FIRST

    oh wait...
  3. im not sure what to think of that article. AP says the security breach is already closed. and some "geek" hacked into their system to frame scott tom.. i don't buy that at all..

on a side note, the article had links to both p5s and pxf.. now alot more ppl will know what to do w ajs w m =14 to a min raise in mp.. lol.
  4. Thats good news, I look forward to even more exposure.
  5. I suppose this "geek" has also been framing Scott Tom for spamming the 2+2 forums by making hundreds of posts over several months.
  6. that a hacker exploited a security flaw

This really just sensationalized what happened. This implies that he broke in from the outside.
  7. Very good read.

2+2, P5's and PXF should see an increase in traffic with that kind of exposure.
  8. AP is still lying.
  9. That poor Scott Tom...such a stand up guy....I hope his reputation doesn't suffer from this.
    <SPAN>lol
    <SPAN>SCOTT TOM #1 CHOICE FOR AIDS!</SPAN>
    </SPAN>
  10. <table bgcolor="#ffffff" border="0" cellpadding="4" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr bgcolor="#eeeedd"><td><table border="0" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td valign="top"> </td><td>Re(2): AP story made front page of MSN.com

    shocker
  11. Pft... only 2+2 gets mentioned, no love toward p5's where the real indisputable proof was presented.
  12. agreed MC.. hackers get blamed for way too much when it comes to computers. this was an inside job, with the criminal having exactly 0 hacking skills. (and 0 life skills as well)
  13. Oh man, poor Scott Tom. He was totally framed. He was framed like O.J. was framed you know. He was framed, he was so fucking framed. Who framed Scott Tom? The same person that framed Roger Rabbit? Interesting.......
  14. The whole "Geek" thing seems so juvenile and unprofessioinal regardless if its true or not

  15. The "GEEK" had a hella bankroll to cover those buy ins..where did the funds come from?
  16. eugeneius,

Actually we did make the story... on the 2nd page.
  17. Whether it was Tom or not (AP doesn't deny completely that it was Tom, but they certainly point against it.), it was still an inside job by a member of the AP staff.

    From the story:
"The cheater, whose illegitimate winnings were estimated at between $400,000 and $700,000 by one victim, was an employee of AbsolutePoker.com who hacked the system to show that it could be done, said a spokesman for the company, who spoke with msnbc.com on condition of anonymity... This is literally a geek trying to prove to senior management that they were wrong and he took it too far,” he said.

Either way, what a crazy week for online poker. One simple file being sent and all this breaks. Imagine if Marco just deleted the file...
  18. Hold on a second, I swear I just saw that in a movie recently. Some super genius IT guy tells the FBI or CIA that they are vulnerable to getting hacked, they ignore him, he hacks the federal database just to show he can, he gets a promotion. LOL at that explanation from an anonymous source.
