Apologies to the poker world

    Hi Everyone,

    I have to clear my conscience....I played a $1500 guarantee ($15 buyin which is big for my micro-roll) last night on Pacific, and yes I know its the minor leagues, but it works. Anyway, 20 pay in this little extravaganza and I'm cruising along until my JJ runs into KK and I get away from it with 500 chips left and the blinds at 100/200. I managed to hang on until there was 24 left and I had 135 chips left on the button.

    Here's where the apology comes from. I used my full time bank every turn to slow play my way to the money. As every Cinderella story does, I ended up with AA in the BB and then doubled up with AJ, making the $$. Then this got crazy, as in 3 hands I became the chip leader! Then I played solid and got totally destroyed heads-up by Dave2k4 (congrats dude if you're on here).

    So, to all who hate the super-duper "drag your feet, a$$, and everything else you can" move to try to make the money......Sorry, I'll try not to do it again.

    Hey, that's why you have it in the bank. As long as you don't bust peoples balls stalling and yapping about it. It's understandable to me.

    YOU HAVE IT IN THE BANK TO MAKE TOUGH DECISIONS. IT'S NOT A TOUGH DECISION TO FOLD 49 PRE. YOU ARE SCREWING OVER THE WHOLE TABLE AND GIVING YOURSELF A WORSE CHANCE TO WIN. TRY CHIPPING UP IN THAT SPOT NEXT TIME. YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY MAKE MORE THAN YOUR BUY IN BACK.

    CAPS FOR EMPHASIS BECAUSE STALLING HAS GOT TO STOP. IT'S WORSE THAN WORLD HUNGER.

    I say play as slow as you like. You're given 30 seconds per hand plus a time bank - use it how you like. Your edges are small enough in poker, if you find a +EV situation take it, even if it does mean "slowplaying". That's one of the benefits of online poker - you can't have anyone call a clock on you. You used this rule to your advantage and took a nice score because of it. I for one congratulate you.

    Cue the barrage of abuse from the haters.

    Deliberately slowing play down is against the rules of the site, and considered cheating. Not sure that is was in your best interest to publicly display this where all could see, including the very site you play on.

    In addition, stalling is a -ev play in anything other than a multi-win satellite tourney. You caused everyone at your table, including yourself, to have a lesser chance of winning.

    That said:

    I accept your apology.
