Absolute Poker takes all allegations of player fraud and collusion extremely seriously. Fair play and security are of paramount importance to us. Our Security and Fraud Department is dedicated to ensuring that everyone on the site has a fair opportunity to win, and that no improper methods, devices, programs and/or other unfair advantages are ever utilized in our games.

We were greatly concerned by a recent thread on the 2+2 forums along with emails and other communications we received, regarding alleged player fraud. We thank the vigilant players who reported this matter to us, giving us an opportunity to investigate these serious allegations. We spent extensive resources thoroughly investigating and analyzing our players claims. While our investigation is ongoing, we feel that we have enough information at this point to share with you some of our findings.

Please be advised, that we will continue to investigate each and every claim of wrong-doing on an individual basis and we will report any further significant findings that are appropriate for public review. Also, please keep in mind, while we endeavor to provide as much information as possible on a public level, we take our players privacy issues very seriously, and will never compromise this. As a matter of Company policy, Absolute Poker never divulges personal information about our players nor do we make public any hand information that did not go to a showdown, ever. As a result, we are limited in terms of the level of information that we can provide for public review.

In response to the allegations, we froze the accounts of the players in question while we performed an extensive investigation. The result of our investigation is that we found no evidence that any of Absolute Pokers redundant and varying levels of game client security were compromised. In other words, we have determined with reasonable certainty that it is impossible for any player or employee to see hole cards as was alleged. There is no part of the technology that allows for a superuser account, and there is no way for any person to influence the game software to their advantage. We base this finding on a thorough security check on a technological level, coupled with a thorough investigation of hand histories including those that did not go to a showdown. As a part of our investigation, we also tested the integrity of our certified random number generator (RNG.) We determined that our RNG was not compromised either.

    Details of the investigation

We combed through all hands involving the accounts that were mentioned in the online forums. Please note that only a select number of hands were featured in the threads. Our ongoing investigation continues to show that there were countless instances where a somewhat unorthodox poker strategy resulted in a loss. Allegations that the player accounts at issue always guessed right are unfounded.

We examined screen shots from Poker Tracker Software that displayed an infinite river aggression factor for one of the player accounts at issue. We examined similar screen shots which showed a lower but still relatively high river aggression factor. We were very concerned by this anomaly. Accordingly, we reviewed each and every hand that this player played during the relevant time period and determined that while the play was extremely aggressive, particularly on the river, there were several instances where the player merely called on the river. Thus, the allegation that the player accounts at issue never called on the river, they either raised or folded are also without merit.

With respect to the allegation of chip dumping, we have determined that chip dumping by at least one of the accounts at issue, did in fact, take place. We have determined that the chip dumping was made to several seemingly unrelated accounts. We are continuing to investigate this issue.

    Conclusion

A super-user account does not exist in our software. Absolute Poker was created by poker players who value security and fair play. The back-end of the Absolute Poker software prevents the possibility of any such feature. Our game client only receives data regarding an individuals hand and no other player hole cards are ever visible by anyone except in the event of a showdown. Having said that, we will continue this investigation as well as look into any other allegations of wrong-doing. If appropriate, we will freeze funds and reimburse effected players.

Absolute Poker remains a 100% secure place to play. We value all of our players and we will continue to provide our community with a safe, secure and exciting online poker experience.

EDIT: I personally have no interest in this as I have NEVER played on AP. I just thought this was of interest to some people on this site, and have not seen it posted. I also believe from what I have heard that there is some shady sh1t happening there.

  2. funny i uninstalled AP yesterday

    nobody believes them
  3. cliff notes plz?

  4. Cliff notes: They say there is not a superuser account. They have reviewed hand histories and see some abnormal play resulting in wins and losses.

  5. I've seen the HH from the 1k potripper won... I will never play there again

  6. There is no denying AP is rigged. There is no way for any intelligent person to think otherwise.
     2
  7. I've never played there - and never will...

and the fact a top ranked player doesn't have the time to read a few paragraphs about a top poker site being rigged makes me laugh.....well played snowman

edit - don't play on UB either.....- between the poker tracker stats and the hh of the 1k tourney thats enough for me ....seriously why does anybody play there when pokerstars and full tilt offer such a great alternative, even Bodog..?
  8. they have cliff notes.......scroll down to CONCLUSION........

  9. Wow they're denying it? I never would have imagined that in a million years.
  10. Yeah i think everyone basically knew that this would be AP's response whether they found 100% concrete proof or not.

Funny how all of their checks seemed to be just quality control checks of their own security and their RNG...not one mention of any sort of statistical analysis of all of the superusers hand histories.
  11. Based on the evidence (albeit circumstancial evidence only) shown in the various 2+2 threads and cross-posted here I don't see how any rational person that values their money would ever want to play there again. I never had an account there and am only a small-stakes player, but I would never ever play there. Seriously, anything other than a completely independent third party investigation into this is a joke IMO.
  12. I've played maybe a dozen times on AP in my life, so this issue doesnt really affect me personally as much. But for those saying they dont trust AP (myself included, i mean how can u trust them?) why are you still playing on UB?
  13. roshambo
  14. That is a very good question. I continue to play on UB despite what I posted above about AP. I rationalize it by telling myself that UB's software and AP's were developed entirely independently of one another and so the supposed existence of a super-user account on one site does not necessarily mean that it must exist on the other as well. I also have always been a fan of UB's structure and have always done well there. Do I like the fact that my rake is ultimately going to the folks at AP? No. Do I question whether or not I should be playing at UB? Yes. Do I continue to play at UB in the near future? Probably.
  15. Have/will never play on AP or UB.
I expected a response exactly like this.
    It just took them forever.
What a crock of shit, there is too much evidence.
  16. can some plz post the link to the 2+2 forum

    ty

  17. Thats why ub is becoming more and more of a ghost town
  18. The evidence is just overwhelming on this one. no matter what they say, not gonna play there.
  19. If they were truly worried about their reputation and cared about integrity, why didn't they bring in an unaffiliated third-party company to investigate the matter? I don't understand what AP's findings in regards to their own software has to do with anything? Did they really think we expected them to come out and say, "Hey, you guys finally caught us. We do hand out super-user accounts, and some of our employees/former employees might have gotten their hands on some. It sure was fun while it lasted. Congrats on the detective work, and we promise (wink) to never screw you guys over again (wink wink)."

Well played AP. Good luck with business in the future.
  20. WE concluded OUR investigation.......lol.

Its like me being accused of theft and telling the DA I investigated myself and I am clean I couldnt have done it.....LOL
  21. Ari,

UB software is completely different from Absolute, hence, no worry about the software there.

As far as all of the rest of the AP investigation, I believe them as far as I can throw them. The fact stands that the cheating "superuser" issue was caught as quickly as it was because of two reasons:

1.) They tried to cheat the highest games, which is filled with intelligent players who communicate with each other and recognize disturbing hh's that make no sense. They further could be reassured that even though the sample size was small, the combined commonality amongst them was the same opponents all had the same river infinity aggression factor which is simply impossible unless your playing as if the cards are face up, such as when potripper won the 1K with a huge call after the flop with TEN FUCKING HIGH, no pair, no draw, in other words an IMPOSSIBLE call. This was just one example. I don't need to rehash the numerous cash game pots that clearly showed the cheating.

2.) The thieves made it easy by being so zealous in their cheating they didn't even bother to milk the cow slowly, they tried to fleece the sheep without even making it look good.

All of these "accusations" were further confirmed when the day after the posts began on 2+2 they started doing two things: They intentionally lost some hands to make it seem like they now couldn't see the hole cards, and then they started dumping hundreds of thousands of dollars to other accounts from the superuser accounts. I guess we are supposed to believe it was all a coincidence.

    Bullshitaments

  22. Uninstalled AP a couple of weeks ago when this surfaced. If not an SU account, the RNG has been compromised. They of course would never admit to either so I can't really trust anything they ahve to say on the matter. GG AP.
  23. What exactly should AP do?

apestyles is an instructor at PocketFives Training . To get more of his advice and to watch his training videos, click here.

  24. Figure out a non-obvious way to cheat their customers.
  25. coming from an 8.7 percentile player, I believe they should blow up :)

  26. lol @ jtown, well played

  27. Agreed with Ari...

Absolute owns UltimateBet. Absolute lets people cheat on their site and does nothing about it, yet people still feel safe playing on UB? Doesn't make sense to me. Anyone who continues to play on a site that basically steals money from their customers is an idiot.
  28. brsavage, it does not matter that the software was created independently. They are run by the same people and their response here is ludicrous. For them to still deny that their software wasn't flawed, when every piece of evidence suggests the opposite, means that no person, site, or anything that is in any way affiliated with them should be trusted in any regard. Any one who trusts any site that is the least bit affiliated with Absolute Poker should really rethink it.

  29. Guys, the whole issue of the superuser account came into play after the AP software update, and is 100% restricted to the software at Absolute. The UB software is 100% different, remember AP bought UB, they didn't DEVELOP it.

Yes, some may say you shouldn't play at UB if you don't trust AP, but for many, the biggest concern is a fair game, not the monkeys fucking the football behind the scenes and their poor policies. Heck, if that was the case, then you should have stopped playing at UB eons ago when they went in the shitter.

  30. Someone should put that 1k HH in the PXF replayer for public view.
