Playing AQo UTG is a bit tricky. In a loose aggressive game where the stacks aren't DEEP would a raise or a limp be more condusive? (I would be more inclined to raise if it was suited.)
-
raise, never limp
-
I limp here OOP. Even suited.
-
In a loose aggressive game without deep stacks I am never limping AQ. UTG I am either raising and calling a shove, open shoving, or open folding. Without antes I am probably open folding.
That said, I've heard arguements for limping AQ UTG as it looks strong enough for any hand raising you probably has you beat therefore making your decision the same as if you had standard raised. AK will usually be raising you, and Ax may limp along with you giving you some added value. -
It's 100% situational.
If it's early in a MTT, I raise the standard.
If I am reasonably deep at a full table with larger blinds, I lean towards folding.
If I am short with 12 BBs or less I shove.
If I have 12-15 BBs I raise 3.5x and call a shove (I always open 2.5k @ 50/100 and on)
If I have 15-22 BBs I lean towards folding again.
If I have over 22 BBs I raise standard and evaulate after all the PF action finishes. -
What dollar game are you playing at? In a $5 or $10 game, I think you raise it, and play from there.
Why are you itching to limp here? Where is the benefit? Are you folding to a raise? If so, this looks spewish. Also, if you miss the flop, are you bailing?
I think you raise here. AQ is a good hand, I hate to fold it. That being said, it's all game dependent, there are situations where I'd just fold it and go on.
