when ur faced by that reraise, do you basically become pot commited because of the odds being layed that you are alive and maybe even a coin flip. Did u also factor in was hte potential stack to be gained and what can be done with said stakc in your possesion??? In your opinion is 2k not enough with 130(45 paid) left an 75/150 blinds?

If you do answer, thanks, same applies to any other player lol.
  2. misclick?
  3. I felt like I put i put in too much of my stack to fold. I waited along time, and obv. i thought i wasnt good, but what was less than 2k worth at that stage. Looking back I prob. shouda just folded.
  4. thanks for the response sir.

  10. <TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=2 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD>"I am in no way questioning your play. I'm not "hating" on anybody, I just wana know a few things about your thoughts in the call of the all in."

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>lol. Of course you are. You even made comments to him during the hand.

Is it a questionable play to even make the initial raise, since he is at best racing for a 1/3 of his stack? Sure. But who cares. He chose to do it and he ended up paying for it. He felt committed to call the re-raise all in and lost. OH MY. Lets call him out on Pocketfives (just like others have with Ari and other ranked players).

Unless you are truly attempting to gain insight to better your own game, I think its weak to keep posting these hand histories. Ari, like anyone else, makes calls because he thinks he is ahead, he's willing to race, is pot committed, or is desperate to chip up. He obviously is not trying to donate chips to random players, so leave him alone. His record speaks for itself. And I commend him for responding to these types of posts. He shouldnt even bother.

    That is all.
  11. i don't understand these posts. it's pretty clear to me (and anyone with half a brain) that the op (and others like him) aren't criticizing ari as much as trying to understand and learn from him, because they don't understand his play and are trying to improve. it's what a poker forums is for. honestly, he made a comment during the hand about it being -ev, and then came to the forums and respectfully asked ari to respond, and then thanked him for his response.
  12. i'd sure hate to play as bad as ari so i could wipe away my tears with $100 bills as i was doing backflips all the way to the bank

  13. I saw it as an attack, and I consider myself full-brained.

And I would say that the "Hand Advice" forum would be where the discussion for this hand should take place if you truly want an analysis of the hand. The very fact it's put in the primary forum indicates that the OP wanted a discussion on Ari rather than a discussion on the hand.

But hey, what do I know.

  14. in what way is it an attack? he prefaces the post by saying he's not questioning the play or hating, just trying to learn his thoughts on the call. he ends his post by asking specific questions about the hand and thanking ari in advance. he immediately thanked ari after ari responded, and except to defend himself by saying he was just asking a question, he hasn't been back to the thread to "attack" or "hate on" ari.
  15. The "hate" comes from the fact that:

    1. They commented during the hand about how -EV the play supposedly was.
    2. They said "22 again", implying that they had seen another situation where Ari made a similar move.
    3. Implying that the person is a regular p5's poster/lurker, they would have seen other posts that have been made about Ari's play with low pairs.

Now, if they know that it's happened before, and they're a p5'er, and, assuming they've seen the other threads, why start a brand new thread. Why even ask the question? Read any other 'hate on Ari' post. Or at least post it in Hand Advice, which is the forum where people ask for advice regarding hands.

It just seems that if Molly TRULY wanted advice, there are many, many other venues for her to use. Private messaging, the Hand Advice forum, and any other 'hate on Ari' thread. The fact that she felt the need to create her own post (coupled with my general impression) lead me to believe that it's basically another 'hate on Ari' post rather than a real, genuine plea for advice.

Lengthy, yes. Just what I feel to be true.

  16. let me preface this by saying i'm not trying to start a fight with you or anything - i respect very much that you can give me your opinion in a mature and clear way without attacking me in any way, and i'll try to do the same.

    1) yes they did, i took it as a "what the hell, 22? ... looks like ari knows something i don't, let me post on the forums and find out his reasoning behind this seemingly strange play"

    2) i only started browsing p5s regularly about a week or so ago, but i've already seen more than one thread about these low pocket pairs

    3) i definitely agree that this has been posted/discussed/answered in other places, but maybe the op thought there was different logic behind this move, and also it seemed like the op had specific questions about this post

i'll shut up about this now as it isn't of much import, but i really feel like molly just wanted advice and is getting flamed for posts by other people criticizing ari (or others') play.
