Aruba Travel Problems

    Anybody else having travel problems due to the hurricane? I was set to fly to Houston on saturday and get to aruba from there and obviously thats not gonna happen. So the travel agency is trying to figure out how to get me there. Anybody else going through this?

    We're flying through Charlotte via US Airways....shouldn't be a problem going that way. See if your travel agent can get you on US Airways or Delta flights (Delta would take you through atlanta, most likely).

    My girlfriend and I are scheduled to fly out of Phoenix to Dallas very early Saturday morning, then down to Miami and on to Aruba from there. I really hope we beat the storm and get out of there. I would absolutely hate to get stuck somewhere. GL to anyone else facing these same problems.

    Hey Aces, I was also supposed to fly to Aruba from Houston, but changed my itinerary today...free of charge. I suggest you get on the phone with your airline ASAP and tell them the situation. They should work with you at no upcharge...and very worst case scenario, I am sure that UB would refund you for the trip if you could make it. I called American Airlines today and they were VERY accomodating.

    My problem is I am flying down on Tuesday and have nowhere to stay. I have left a few messages with UB's travel agent but no return call. They must be the same people who work in their customer service. Anyone planning on getting knocked out early and want to sell me a piece of their room Tues thru Sat? My startdate is Wed. I am also traveling with Artiecat who is having the same problem.

    Thanks all for your responses. I learned today that my itinerary has been changed and i will now be flying to Aruba via Chicago so I am all set. Can not wait to get down there!

    Happy to hear that all of you that were flying through Houston other arrangements. They don't "expect" any problems in Dallas. We'll see....

    Hard to Imagine! Here all of you are having these momentous gigantic problems getting routed to Aruba and that DAMNED CNN & all those other tv stations are coving a ridiculous unimportant event like Hurricane Rita and the EVACUTATION of HOUSTON!!!

    Here you have REAL problems and what are they covering? Evacuees from New Orleans who are now fleeing from Houston, who have only lost friends, children, homes & some their very lives! The NERVE!

    What do you want to bet that they give everything (not that they have ANYTHING) to have the problems you're having?

    Kinda puts things into perspective, eh?

    Well, this is a poker forum and I was having a problem I thought others may have as well and looking for a little insight from someone that might have some. I apologize if that is insensitive. Perhaps every post should be regarding the evacuation of Houston.

    Why are you bothering to spend your time posting on this forum then innocence123? Shouldn't you be down in New Orleans with the rest of the morons who didn't PREPARE like we are trying to do?
