Hi Chris,
I graduated from SDSU about a year ago and one of my favorite things to do when I was out there was to hit up all the indian casinos and local cardrooms on a fairly regualr basis. They have cheap tournaments and pretty good cash games...Hopefully these links help...
Viejas Casino<A target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.viejas.com/html/gaming/poker.cfm">
http://www.viejas.com/html/gaming/poker.cfm</A>
Sycuan Casino
http://www.sycuan.com/sycuan_casino/poker.html
Ocean's Eleven
http://www.oceans11.com/index.htm
and maybe even....
Lucky Lady Card Room (I've never actually been here...It's kinda small)
5526 El Cajon Blvd.
San Diego, CA
(619) 287-6690
Hopefully these links help you out! If you're still in doubt however, just use Cardplayer.com's poker room finder to help you find what you need (SD zip code: 92115)...

Go to pechanga if u have a chance, its in Temecula, best casino in the area. great poker room
not too far north of san diego on I-15 -
If you want to play against the worst players on earth go to viejas. They have a 1 3 nl game and a 2 5 game. Sick action usually should be an easy game for anyone who even remotely knows how to play poker. GLGLGLGLGLGLGL

I agree Viejas is the place to go... 1/3 NL is juicy have always done well there but haven't been in awhile.
They have a fun tourny on Sundays at Viejas you should check out...sign up for a players card and tell them its your first time at the poker booth and you get free entry to the tourny. Try to get there by 9 am though so you dont get stuck as an alternate because the structure is pretty bad. $12 buying (free your first time) and $2 for extra $500 chip and $5 cash bounties on every player. Worth checking out.

Barona's 1/3 NL and 5/5 NL are very weak also. I prefer it over Viejas, both are very weak though.

LMFAO. That comment about the Village Club's "first class kitchen" is absolutely hilarious. But yes there are tons of donkeys throwing money around. Just be careful when you leave.
Listen to PBdrunks, head out to Viejas and enjoy the horrid NL players. Dont bother with the tourney though. Bad structure, very limited supervision of the rebuy process, etc.
Oceans Eleven has great, cheap food, but tougher players.
Pechanga is also nice. -
Thanks for the input and suggestions guys. My brother and I ended up going to Viejas yesterday and it was definitely a good choice. We sat at the only 1-3 NL game they had going and we managed to take more than $300 each out of that game.
My favorite quote from the day was when this woman took forever to call all in for around $275 with AA. She said, "I almost laid it down. I thought it might be a 50/50." pffffffft
I think we're gonna go check out Pechanga today. After seeing how bad the cash games were, we're not all that concerned with playing any tournys. Thanks again for the replies.
