  1. Does anyone have any information whether they allow buy ins to be made in U.S. Dollars? I will be travelling to Melbourne within the next few days and need to know whether I should go about the trouble of exchanging currencies before I arrive.
  2. exchange at airport?

  6. If they let you buy in in USD i would think the rate they'd give you would be terrible.

Also, don't exchange money at an airport, because again the rate is terrible.

Changing money at your bank would probably be the best thing, although you can also buy in online using a Visa card (although has to be 24 hours before the event), so you should probably check with your bank what kind of charges they have for foreign currency conversions.

I would imagine it's standard for US banks to add a ~2% "loading fee" to exchange rates. Ie the charge isn't visible, but it's there. They may also charge a visible fee as well.

    Good luck.
