Just want to know how taxes work, do they withhold anything or do they just give us the full payout and let us pay our own taxes wherever we live?
You don't pay taxes on poker winnings in Australia unless you are a professional poker player which is why players like Joe Hachem put down jobs like 'Financial Advisor' when he won the WSOP. Pro tennis players cannot claim an amateur status so part of their winnings are withheld for taxes but if you put down your day job on your visa it's 'no worries, mate'.
