  1. Does anyone else avoid playing tables with shortstacks in 6 player NL HE.

I find them annoying and just looking to gamble which to a better player is something they probably want to avoid since they have an edge.

I was wondering if other players try to avoid them as well.
  2. Yeah when i play cash i just have it set to "50bb min" so this is avoided.
  3. no, they pretty much all suck... why avoid them?

I love them. Many have a wide calling range but fold to a c-bet. If they call or raise, they likely have a hand or draw and you can play accordingly. Occasionally, they will just push with 88+ or AJ+, which I don't mind calling if I have AK or JJ+.
  5. They are annoying but they are putting themselves at a disadvantage. Adjust your play and you'll do fine.
  6. Depends... there are good 20bb shortstackers who can pretty much ruin the game for full stackers. Most shortstackers in low stakes are not good though, I don't mind those at all. Mostly when I see someone who's not auto rebuying to 100bbs I just tag them as non regs and try to be in pots with them.
  7. Theres a bunch of regs at pokerstars 1/2 PLO that just donate 40$ nearly every 20 mins.

I don't mind short stackers at all.
  8. I only sit at tables where all 5 players are sitting relatively close to the max buy in .. i find myself jumping back and forth trying to find solid tables a lot of the time .. generaly there are plenty of tables tho so its normaly not a big deal

edit: i only do this because I like to maximize profit when I have hands .. it kind of tilts me when I could have stacked some1 in that seat for a full buy in but only got 10bb off them .. i'll either win 10 bb or double them up and they run so im not a fan of sitting with them
  9. I don't mind having a shortstacker or two at a table. But when you get like 3 or 4 it's a little annoying.

I agree they can be annoying at times but I try and use them to trap other players when ever possible. Similar to a tournament, there are some advantages to using the short stacks to win big pots from the other players.
