Good analogy, gags. But I think a higher percentage of the cash game players would be successful in making the transition to mtts than mtt'ers to cash. My guess is most cash game player just wouldn't wanna bother trying.

I do agree that the top cash game players deserve more respect then the top mtt'ers, but thats because cash has alot more variables to it then mtt's.
cash and mtt's are just very very different animals. a lot of great mtt players would be break even players or losers at high stakes cash games...and vica versa
As an aside, Andrew Broukos is fucking sick in both cash and mtts. Just spends way more time playing cash. -
More details plz on the backing = guaranteed money in the pocket, cuz this is the first I'm hearing about it. Snap call.

i mean...i'd rather not call anyone out or anything dumb like that...but there are certainly many high stakes cash game players that i'd rather see at my table than a lot of good mtt players

I don't think you normal people have any idea how much it costs to play tournys..
heres a little example... 5th of the month go play a 25 k buy in two weeks later play a 10 k buy in play a couple 5 ks play all 4 sunday cost 6 k a sunday theres like 80 k for one month in tourny buy ins do you know how rich u have to be to pay 50 k or more a month in tournys
op is a moron and sucks at poker
and im on tilt cuse i just got 3rd in 150 r DFDFDFDFDFDFDFWDW -
Cash game players are better at playing 100+bb stacks, tourney players at playing <60bb stacks with some overlap in the middle. Tourney players make some attrocious mistakes when they're learning cash games and cash game players make some attrocious mistakes learning tourneys. Not sure why this is brought up and debated so much.

well what do u want to play

woah woah woah big guy. I'm backed and believe me if i only made 30k a year I most certainly wouldn't keep doing whatever it is that is that I'm doing. My personal expenses in 2009 were over 30k alone. I've also never had 6 figures in makeup. I think the people you are talking about are people who aren't that great playing in mtts they should definitely not be playing.

Also your reasoning for someone like myself getting backed is completely wrong. I steadily build my roll just fine being backed. I like being able to play everything I'm profitable in. My EV in WSOP for example is ridic high, but variance is also ridic high. I couldn't afford to play all the wsops on my own as taking a 75k+ hit to my br would be quite a bit to lose. What I don't like is the risk of going broke. -
I'v played thousands of hours of cash .. almost as much as tournys all the way up to 100-200 limit and 25-50 nl and im not a loser in cash games. but I guess you know all about my cash game skillzs altho I don't know how.

I don't think anyone can be considered good at poker if they can't beat all forms of poker -
You're an idiot, and I am not defending his post nor care about it, but hes a big winner in mid stakes cash games.
-
It is really obv that he is joking about OP beating you. I'll give you some slack tho because I saw you crushing with the chip lead in the 150r with 3 left.
-

-

lolz, at people instantly getting offended itt. Relax with the egoaments, sheesh.
fwiw...full time cash game players are infinitely better than tourney players in every aspect of poker and its not close. Not sure why people are wanting to argue that.
When the majority of HSMTT players are < 25 yrs old, its obv they need a backer for numerous reasons. Not a bad choice imo. -
Hahaha, its fun to read the first replies of the thread now, people making fun of OP without knowing that he is a complete baller.
