semi deep in a trny I have JJ here I am thinking I can raise pre and pick up the blinds, but i opted to limp here in early pos, instead hoping to come over the top of someone elses

You're going broke either way.
Think about the alternatives:
1) You smooth call his raise preflop (which wouldn't make much sense with your stack size) and see 8/2/3 rainbow. Whether you check/raise or lead out, it's all going in on that flop.
2) You push preflop, dude has KK. Broke again.
Tough luck. Nothing you can do about it.
