  1. I play mostly cash games with a tournament here and there. I made this play last night and would like some feedback on whether or not it was a good spot for this move. My image at this table was rock tight if anyone was paying attention as I had been card dead for most of the tournament. Thanks for the help all!!

    p.s. What do you think of his call?

    p.p.s. Apparently he went on to win the tournament. Congrats and glad I could help... lol

  2. Well your M is slightly below 5, so it is a good time to make a move. The only problem I have is that I believe this is a $24+2 tournament, and usually in these people will make that call with a range of pretty much any pair, and aj+. Basically you aren't leaving yourself many spots where you are ahead if he calls, and with that large of a range, an early position raiser is going to call a pretty large amount of the time. Personally, I would have tried to pick a slightly better spot, but I can't fault you for making an aggressive play.
  3. Given you chip stack and image, I don't think your play here was bad. The raiser did have fold equity, so he could of easily folded. If you had flatted, that would of been a bad play.

    Your play > villians play IMO
  4. Was a $75 tournament and he was two off button, so mid-late pos, really. I was a little surprised he called w ajo but given his odds and the shot I am making a move I don't think I hate the call. I'm thinking maybe I should be calling in his spot more often, really. I usually fold in his situation...

  5. It was a great spot, and a good enough hand to make a move with......In an unopened pot. He is not opening there with air, specially since there's a super short stack right in front of him, who's gonna move with any face card or SC, and a bigger stack than his on the button.

    So, Zachary's range there is killing your A4s, you need a lot more than that to shove IMO.

    Edit: Count on the fact that a good player ( and zachary is good) it's not gonna fold a shove from the second shortest stack at the table, after opening the pot with a raise.That would send a horrible message to the table. Which means that, even if the numbers say that you do have fold equity, in reality you do not: he's calling you there 100% of the time.

  6. "Well your M is slightly below 5..."

    How did you calculate this M? I think there is a big difference between 7.4 and below 5.

    I agree with Andressoprano. Good enough to shove with your position in an unopened pot. Not a good shove over the opener.
  7. 9 * 50 ante = 450

    bb = 400

    sb = 200

    +__________

    1050 chips per round

    4.9k stack / ~1k round = M slightly under 5
