Pretty much the same thing that happened to Sooners. I have been backed by JJ for over a year now. Not many people knew about it. Anyway, i had my account frozen yesterday and today I got the email saying it is permanently closed since I was "guilty by association". I have done nothing wrong besides transferring money with the wrong people. I have never multi-accounted. JJ has never ghosted or taken over anything for me. I think it is an unfair decision but it is a decision i will have to live with. I knew what the risks were so it is ultimately my fault.
Just wanted to let everyone know you won't be seeing TheTownhouse at the tables anymore. -
they are trying to take all the sharks out of the ME, they obv want an amatuer to win. see elky vs charder

Its unfair, but you knew the risks and its your fault? Seriously, who the hell are you people?

You should be more careful when you choose who you associate with. -

It's money laundering and conspiracy. Serious crimes in the real world.
-
how is it unfair???
-
Its unfair because hes a good player and they like him. And maybe he didnt have anything directly to do with what JJ was doing. But no one really knows the full scope of what goes on. Good Luck in the future.

...aka syndicate, rackateering, etc. gg JJ and his crew of thugs.

Dropping like flies I see.
Who's next? -
Seems like it's unfair but also necessary. PokerStars realized that it was going to be hard to stop JJ, so I think doing what they're doing right now is basically making an example of people so, in the future, it will be much more difficult for people to bring themselves to associate with JJ if he should try to recruit more stakees. Now that they know their PokerStars account is in jeopardy for life, they will take it more seriously and be much more likely to turn the staking offer down. In addition, people will be less likely to help JJ fund accounts because they know that when JJ's new attempt gets caught, they're going down with him. So, in summary, I'm sure PokerStars wishes it was possible to keep players like Chris on the site, but they don't feel like it can be done within their overall objective of getting rid of JJ. And since Chris affiliated with JJ and never reported what he obviously knew to be a violation of Stars' policies (ie, a banned player using new accounts), they have enough justification to ban for life.
Sad day... -
agree with what you said, but I believe it also making an example of JJ for anybody else who may be out there now that is doing what he was doing or is thinking about doing what he was doing. "innocent" people who may be helping an MAer that are reading this stuff and may be helping somebody currently are going to have to really think about their decision now that theyre kind of screwing themselves once the MAer gets caught.

I second! Cheers.

I have to agree with Ace here. On the front page of PD there are a few responses from our elected officials that repeatedly state online poker has no safeguards against crime. I'm not saying what hatty or even JJ was doing was criminal, but think about it - if the online poker community can't even police multiaccounting, what hope do we have of convincing the elected that some terrorist can't open up a poker account and get "staked"??
And although I do believe hatty had not had any of his tournies taken over or ghosted by JJ, I'm positive he knew JJ was playing again on the site. And by receiving or sending funds to a player known to be banned, you subject yourself to ban. In my mind it's just that simple.
