Did Leno tell some not funny jokes about poker, and laugh at the jokes himself?

Just one more reason to not like Leno. He is of course allowed to have his opinion, but he would never argue with a guest about a show, movie, or song they were promoting. He led BF into the topic, and then just argued about it. So annoying to have such a good chance to promote online gaming ruined by Leno. Hopefully, it will still come off positive and gain support. Props to Barney!

I never woulda thought Barney Frank was late night guest material, but either way, YAY Frank and F Leno.

Love Barney Frank, keep up the good fight! Leno has always sucked, why is he against this? What a jerk...but he looked stupid, not Frank.

Few Points:

Frank: has to be one of the smoothest talkers in the business, he just verbally makes other people's arguments look really dumb.....love having him on our side

Leno: I think and hope this was a big learning tool for Frank, Leno, even though we know the true story, represents the views of ALOT of Americans on this subject. I thought Frank as usual did a great job of breaking it down and showing what all fear mongering against online gambling really amounts to. Also I would venture to say Leno's viewpoints are very similar to the viewpoints of many in the Senate, and I hope Frank recognized this and continues to use it to his advantage.

Barney Frank was instrumental in destroying our economy in a number of ways.

Getting online poker legalized is the least he can do in return.

good stuff... I do wish that he would bring the skill game argument up some but I suppose that isn't as strong an argument to most people as just having the right to do what you want with your own money.

Barney Frank is the man. Not only does he go on the Tonight Show to talk politics, but then he talks about internet poker. Although I disagree with a lot of his other positions, he is awesome.

As for the video, I was surprised that Leno had some legitimate points, and actually seemed to believe them. Although Frank rebutted his points pretty well, I wouldn't say he was totally convincing. Instead of comparing it to smoking or drinking I would have said, something like 'it's ok for people to spend $100 on their Farmville but not on poker? No, it is nobody's business what someone spends their money on in their home. The government shouldn't be deciding.' Also as ape said, I would be focusing on that it is a game of skill. That is a very legitimate reason poker is different than many different forms of gambling.

It's nice that even when the guy is basically our #1 champion and he still gets bashed on an online poker board. We've all seen the commercials, spare us your idiotic tirades about fanny and freddy.

Jay Leno really amuses himself. Barney did a pretty solid job, despite Leno constantly trying to discredit him.

BF just sees another opportunity to shore up our failed economic policy. It's another way to provide money to the nanny state. Funny how we want government to intervene with online poker when they can't even control the costs of government.

PS and FT do just fine in protecting their customers. As private corporations they need to protect us so they can make money off of us. Look at UB. Hardly anyone plays on that site anymore. People leave when they feel they are being cheated and lied to.

Yes, the poker sites could do other things such to protect us. I'm pushing biometric mouse and live 5 - 10 min snapshots of the players face in place of avatars.

The government can kiss my ass.

This has nothing to do with privacy and everything to do with $$$$. Was it not private before the government started digging their little fingers into it?

FWIW, I grew up with an entire family of democrats.. I understand their line of thought.

i was thinking the same thing. i wish he wudve briefly distinguished that poker is primarily a skill game and also that in most states its not illegal for people to play online poker

Leno didn't mention the gov't doesn't have a problem with people gambling their money away on lottery tickets. that invalidates his argument more than anything and if you want to gamble at home you can play the stock market.
