  1. OK, this hand came up last night and I got berated for making a terrible call. The button has been min raise folding a lot, especially on the button. I was confident he wasn't calling many shoves, even with my short stack. The SB and myself have stayed out of each others way so far, but he seemed solid enough.

What is a normal calling range for me here?

  2. I'd say somewhere in the neighborhood of AJ+, 99+

  3. In a buy-in that is higher than $3, I'd probably be calling with 7-7+, A-10+... but since I don't really see people making moves in really low limits... probably closer to 9-9+, A-J+ like graps said.
  4. I actually started closer to this range, lefty...and could still see an argument for calling lighter than where I ended up. The OP is getting short, and there's a BUNCH of equity already in the pot. Good spot to gambooool to go deep or go home.

  5. I agree...I'd be in the hand with TT+ or AT+
  6. in a $3 buy in, which are the donkfest i usually play in ($3-20 for me) i have been called (especially late) by any pocket pair, Ax, K8s+, any two face cards...actually i played in a $10 donkament with 2,000 players the other day, we got down to 50 and i did this same play with pocket 8s and got called by a guy holding 97os (we both hand 35ish BBs and i had a tight image). i think the calling ranges that others have said are way too tight for a $3 donkament... i think what they listed is what the callers range SHOULD be. obv it has a lot to do with the player, but in general i ALWAYS get called lightly here. AJ+ and 1010+ are way too tight, for this level. in my experience i always get called with the hand ranges i put listed. i get called with the hands i listed a lot more of the time than 1010+ and AJ+. the players are just too bad to lay down an A or a pocket pair.
