Beal up 1.625 million ..WOW!! Bluff is reporting play is done for the night (In the book one of Beal's issues was playing for too long). I guess Andy will have them up early tomorrow for round 2...
-
Official count is Beal up 1.625 million at the end of day 1. Jen Harmon is on deck for tomorrow, and many people believe that she is the best short handed limit player in the world, so I wouldn't be surprised to see her tear it up tomorrow. Beal has studied heads up limit Hold Em very heavily, and it's a game that can be optimized pretty well as compared to most poker games, so I don't think the corporation will have a giant edge either way, but Jen is probably their biggest advantage.
Chau Giang is also a hell of a short handed limit player and he's on the list too. If there is ever any way to get the hand histories from these matches they would be worth their weight in gold. -
What other games is Beal going to play against The Corporation (so lame)? I didn't read the book, so what other games did he play 3 years ago?
-
Only limit hold'em. If you read the book, Chau Giang got his ass kicked pretty consistenly by Beal last time. Harmon had her ups n downs vs him ,but this will be her first time playing him 100% healthy and that should be noted. She was going thru her liver thing at this time, as a matter of fact she had he surgery during 1 of his visits vs the corporation, so that will be interesting. Howard Lederer beat him most consistently and Beal wont play against him. Also Phil Ivey join the corportation late last time so he will be a key addition too. Should be fun. By the way 1.625 is nothing at all at 100K/200K, it's just over 8 BB's, thats like winning 160$ at 10/20.
-
it was all limit hold em heads up, he was constantly pressuring them to raise the stakes...i think the highest they played last time was 50/100K
-
Only 50K-100K to start, but still only 16 BB. Beal can increase the limits though, speculation has been they will hit 100K-200K in the next couple of days sometime.
-
I am rooting for Beal.
F Corporations -
this may sound retarded and forgive me if it is...but up 1.65 million in a 100k/200k Limit game isnt too much
-
It is a pretty cool book. I like how Beal came up with a sensor, that he placed on his body and told him when to act, I think it was about every 7 seconds, so it would reduce the pros reads.
-
Sure, it's not much. Only 16 BB, but if I read correctly, the corporation is only playing with 100 big bets ($10 million). It's still 1/6 of their bankroll for the game - which is a lot.
-
oh ok Ty :)
Silly me for not reading properly lol -
They each started with 10 million. Someone said that is the most they will let one player play with. if someone lost 10 million they would not let him continue anymore. that is why it is 10 million...
Day 1 beal peaked opver 2.5 million.. I think the pros are going to realize that this guy is very good heads up at these stakes. he studies this alot while they are playing the mixed games. they play big games daily but not shorthanded and definitely not heads up...
He understands the heads up games and I am guessing the corp will be the first to quit... I guess we will see.. He will also not play against certain people. He likes speed where they are seeing more hands in an hour thus making the pros put more at risk. Some pros like lederer and others think alot and this takes too much of the advantage away from his style.
gg Corp....
This so called fish is going to put a dent in the corp.
People say that Todd brunson is the best heads up limit player and he lost. harmon is next. I guess they better hope someone gets a heater. -
Latest news from the game: "things have heated up allegedly. Jennifer went on quite a rush and erased yesterdays deficit...and at one point had the corporation up about 1 million. at the break things are said to be even."
-
Where you getting the updates? Anywhere else besides bluff?
-
When you see how poorly many of them played NL it just shows you that limit isn't all of their strengths while it seems to be a passion of this guy.
