bet/call, only way to play it
checking is super nitty and pretty much atrocious, you are letting him get there and possibly scaring off action from a hand like 99 TT JJ QQ or AK AQ AJ KQ etc with a diamond, depending on what the turn is...
there are so many hands that you are beating that will give you action here... -
alright cool, guess i was in the wrong. thanks for the info though, anything to help my game is greatly appreciated.
sorry if i was an a** brian lol, didnt mean to be. -
"about the only thing itaccomplishes is pushing him off a small flush draw, and against thisparticular opponent im not even sure it does that."
Again, this advice makes noooooooooooooo sense. You say 'I'm not even sure your bet pushes him off of a small flush draw.' Well OK, that's what you WANT. You want him to tag along with a small diamond. You want him to get money in the pot with AdQx here. You want him to get it all in with JdJc here. You checking is only letting him catch up. -
you are probably right here man.
i guess i was thinking too much about crainemann and not enough about how to actually play the hand. shit i hate being nitty ;) -
It's ok Jar, you weren't a jerk and I hope I wasn't either. This was actually one of the best hand disucssions ive had on here in a longggggggggg time! :)

haha there is a reason i play the .25/.5 levels...gotta learn gotta learn :-p nah man you were offering good advice, just took it a while to register. im a donkey like that

lol @ the "he might call with a draw so I don't want to bet" logic in this thread.

Raise to $11 preflop.
C Bet 2/3 to full pot. -
saw some of you said you misread the OP, so I bolded what i figured was necessary to the decision making (didn't mention stack sizes in the beginning). wow glad this is of interest to you guys...i am playing right now but will read thru these responses later. much appreciated thx guys

what was the outcome of the hand?
NJM -
You have to bet this flop, I would think 14 would be around the right amount. If he shoves then you have a decision but most likely a call and you ship the pot
-
4 bet pre should be closer to $10...
as played, bet 13ish on the flop and call shove... this is a spot where stats on villian would help enormously, especially pf/flop AF
