The best bet I have ever made...what's yours?

    The best bet I ever made was about 3-4 years ago. I bet my poker buddy $100 that I could win a $4 180 man tournament on my first try and I did. He gave me a lighter w/my poker name on it as a "trophy" for the accomplishment -- never will any of us forget that.

    Best poker nonbet was realizing I should never get staked...however I have yet to win anything major 8o(

    Had never hit a home run during my high school baseball career and got someone on my team to give me 50:1 odds that I wouldnt hit one that game. Put up $5 and hit one out on the first pitch of my next at bat to win $250.

    Won 11k on an absurd $100 parlay once. I just remember the last game that it came down to was the Clippers beating Oklahoma City on the money line.

    Sounds like the best bet your buddy ever made and he just got extremely unlucky

    I was 23 and the $$ didn't matter. Don't look at it from a financial point, I just felt like gambling.

    my buddies friend bet me and my and another buddy 100 each before the nfl season that minn vikings would win the superbowl about 5 yrs ago..kid was drunk spouting off that minn was going to win the superbowl and literally handed us each 100 on the spot.. took said hundred deposited onto stars and promptly grinded it up to a g in about a week

    Mansion poker did a promotion where you could bet $1k on the steelers to cover their first game of the year against the dolphins after they won the superbowl a few years back. If you won you got 1k and if you lost they refunded so it was a freeroll but you had to bet the steelers. They limited it to the first few hundred people so I did it early when it was Pitt -4. Then Ben went and wrecked his motorcycle so they had to start Charlie Batch and the spread went to Pitt +3. Wasn't looking good when they were down 2 with 2 mins or so left and on defense. Then Joey Porter picked one off and took it to the house so they covered and I got the free $1k so of course me and everyone that came to my dorm for the game went out drinking all night on me. Good times

    My best bet was when the Packers played the Bears in the playoffs this year. I took the Packers and my brother took the Bears with loser having to run a marathon. He is running it in a few weeks now.

    National title game years back Texas vs USC. Spartans were heavily favored but took Longhorns to win by <4 with 9:1 odds. Mr. Vince Young came thru with a TD to end the game and win by a field goal I believe. I won a absurd amount of money for me at the time but also the beginning of the end for my sports betting habit. Ahhh the memories of sweating a game to the very final play....

    Did the exact same thing... although I don't remember them limiting it to a set number of people. Was a pretty sweet $1000 freeroll.

    Pretty crazy someone above posted almost the same story, I never parked a homer in highschool came real close a few times my friend on another local school bet me 10 bucks At 20 to 1 that I wouldn't hit one in one of the 2 ganes we played eachother and I wound up hitting my only homer of my junior season vs them, was pretty sweet rounding third since be played 3rd he looked real tilted hahaha

    Haha nice. The kid I bet was pitching for us in this game and it was a 3 run HR to put us up 4-1. Everyone met me at home plate except our pitcher who was just sitting in the dugout shaking his head even though it got him the W haha

    Went to AC with a few buddies, at dinner one of them said how we NEEDED to go to the high stakes slots after dinner and pool $200 each to play and see what happens.... I had never played a slot in my life, but figured what the hell, I was already up about 1K from poker before dinner. 6 of us went to high stakes Wheel of Fortune with $1200 total..... 30 mins later we had 14K.
