    I have never posted, but just couldn't help myself in this case.

    Still in first hour of $30 rebuy, but getting into the last 15mins. I limp, hoping someone raises, so I can push and double or rebuy and this happens...

    his fold may have been correct considering what the rake would have been in the pot after he called imo. he was on a higher level of thinking ;)

    Same thing except not the same thing at all when it's on cash. Congrats on trying to let the rake win. If I were the other player, I'd be livid. Never understood why someone would want the rake to take 1.25 from each player so that each player could get .90 from that pot...both players lose .35 in the hand. If he makes that call, his stack would be .35 shorter than if he folds to your shove, so it's a good fold.

    Explain how limp/shoving AK during rebuy period is bad. You get called looser because no one will believe you, there is more money in the pot possibly even dead money and they can just rebuy if they lose. Your hand is also disguised and you can get a lot of action when you flop well and people gamble during this time. If you miss the flop you lose 1bb and prob weren't going to win a big pot anyway.

    Just because it isn't by the books doesn't mean it's bad. There can be more optimal ways to play hands based on table dynamics, and other intangibles such as rebuy period ending soon etc.
