1. I am making my first trip to Las Vegas tomorrow. I have about $1500 for poker and five days to play. Which casino's are the softest? I plan on grinding 1-2 nl whole time if its available, if not then ill try 1-3. Also, what kind of money can be made if I run halfway decent at these limits in 5 days(14 hours/day)? Are the games a lot easier on Friday & Saturday night when the tourists are in town? wish me luck!

  5. MGM and bellagio tend to always be busy and full. 1-2 games are always soft. I suggest playing bellagio 1-2 prior to the cirque shows. Alot of people playing before going in. Had a + 700 sesh there around that time

  11. i personally like ballys and mgm when i am playing 1-2. These places have been the softest from what i have experienced. The best time to make money is at night when the games loosen up.. During the day, it is full of a lot of old regs waiting on aa or kk and is real boring. 2k can def be made but will be tough with rake and having to deal with a few bad beats

  12. anyplace you play 1-2 the majority of players are super soft...i guess if i had to rank em id put the smaller poker rooms as little more profitable, more so then like bellagio, caesars, venetian...but honestly 1-2 you can find ALOOOOTTTT of soft games anywhere that it is spread.

  13. A friend of mine grinded a $200 buy in at 1/2 into about $16,000 over several hours.

    Did it at the Venetian.

Here name is Annette. You may have heard of her. She started playing poker at 15 but she's 21 now.

    Barely.

  14. MGM far and way, then I go with Planet Hollywood. $2k in five days is entirely possible. So many fish, you'll be amazed at the play you see. I'd compare it to 2-4 LIMIT it's so comical.

You can easily make 2k in less than a day if you're a good player.

  17. There is literally no such thing as a 1/2 game that isn't soft. The MGM is amazing if you like money, especially at night, especially on weekends. The Golden Nugget is a particularly fun spot because there's no max buyin and you just see piles of hundos on the table just waiting to leave their clueless temporary owners and come your way. The Sahara is fun if you like watching people who are waiting around to die bleeding off their pensions. The more drunks, the more rich people who don't care if they win or lose, the better. The correct answer is anywhere, but if you're focusing on one place, make it the MGM.

  18. Orleans was pretty soft and had some of the better combos of moderate sized stacks and not good passive players if you happen to be risk averse and/or if you find yourself with under $500 and still wanting a real chance to build the roll. gl

  20. I played MGM 1/2 and it was as soft a 1/2 game I have ever played. They also have a 0.5/1 but it's probably harder game than the 1/2. Not cause of better players but because of 7 calling stations makes it near impossible to move anyone off anything till the river

After running bad, I started playing this .50/$1 game and within a n hour or 2 I had a full buyin at 1/2.. I saw one other guy doing the same thing, basically a cash satty into the 1/2 game in a way... After a rough first week this definetly turned my 2 week trip around...

Also I would say MGM for cash because they dont do all of the bad beat jackpoots and extra stuff like that. It sucks having that taken out of your pots imo..

Aria has 2 daily tourneys 1:00 and 7:00 i believe, get anywhere from 50-100 players when I was there - great structure and horrible players... they start you with like 8k chips i think, and 3 of the 4 times i played i worked it up to 60k in the first 2-3 hours, and made 3 final table. On the weekend i had a table where 8 of the players didnt understand what an ante was with comments like "what, why do we have to put an extra 25 in, are the other tables doing this" and then the next hand dealer asks for antes, and got"what we have to pay this every hand?" lol!!

    gl have fun

  25. Is the problem with calling any one casino soft that it's all very dependant on the standard of player staying at that hotel that week/weekend?

I played at MGM and to be honest the standard on the 1/2 and the 0.5/1 was very similar. The next night though I played mainly 0.5/1 the table was by far better standard than most of the 1/2 game. Very table dependant IMO.

Certainly not as soft as the guy who turned up with 40 and said he would play 2/5 if seat was open. The casino floor sent him home!

  26. I'd recommend MGM as well.

But for God's sakes, man...if it's your first time in Vegas, please don't sit there in the poker room for 5 days. Get out a bit. See some stuff. Chase tail in a club. Have a nice dinner. It would SUCK to spend five days in Vegas and never see Vegas.

Planet Hollywood was soft when I went. The "poker room" isn't much of a room but more of a collaboration of tables roped off from the rest of the casino(blackjack/craps/machines). There are lots of drunkards who walk by and decide to donate a buy-in. Btw, it's a $40 min buy-in there. Wicked cheap. Another thing to note is that the staff is garbage. I'm not sure if they've improved over the 6 months since I've been there but the dealers were terrible( accidental card flips, misreading hands, etc.)
