I was just playing this guy a hu sng and he would mini bet out every single time on every street with or without a hand. What is the best way to get value out of these players.
I ended up winning in a very long match. I tend to play more aggressive against these players, but it's hard to get any range on their hands, cuz they mini with a monster or nothing.
You smoth call them and let them catch, or raise them and they fold instantly, unless it's a time they have a monster.
I ended up check raising alot and raising with nothing alot myself, but was just hard to get big pots, and i would let him back in the match alot as i was being more aggressive.
Any thoughts? -
Well, the min bet means nothing, so I would play your hands down normally against this player. If you have junk, fold. If you have a hand, you raise it up.

Yeah its probably the most tilting thing ever, besides gimps leading out for pot OOP. The thing is, when they are min betting it generally says nothing about their hand strength; it's compareable to making a standard c-bet heads up or a standard turn bet, except they're uber retarded and getting very little value out of hands.
When people are playing this tight I generally try to balance my 3 betting ranges on both the flop and pre. If they're min raising me on their button I play how I generally do against any villain, I will throw in 3 bets every now and then to define their hand, both with air and strong hands. When you open up like this and they realize that you are 3 betting a wide range (or translated to their level 1 thinking: wow this guy try to bluff me alot omg) this will help you get value out of your larger hands. Likewise, open 2.5x-3x very frequently pre on the button so your monster hands don't generate snap folds.
The reason these guys are min betting every street, is because they are HORRIBLE, it says nothing about their hand strength whatsoever. Because of this you need to be putting them to the test on alot of flops with check/raises. I wouldn't even consider it a 3 bet beacuse so often they're betting like 40 into a 200 pot on the flop, usually raise it up to slightly less than the pot. You'll notice these weak looking min bets will call these strong c/r a good amount of the time, which will let you know that obviously they just don't know how to bet for value. Also by doing this, as stated, you're going to get more value from your real hands and will develope a better feel for the villains game. Once you make this part of your gameplan against these ultra-horrible-smallballerz, you will find that you don't need to "smoothcall" strong hu hands and lose wads of value, simply just raise it to a more reasonable amount that would give std value for a hand. For example, Pot=240, they lead for min bet:40, raise it up to about 145. If they call you here and you have air, they generally have it so don't try to run some elaborate bluff, generally just give up on the pot, call down their min bets on the next two streets occasionally and just see what exactly they're floating the flop with if its a small percent of your stack.
Their small bets are making you lose value if you're simply calling, but also remember they're giving you ridiculous pot odds and I think sometimes hero calling with air is well worth seeing what they're carrying on with after your flop raise. Calling down an additional two BBS to showdown has alot of equity in these circumstances imo if you're atleast > 40bbs deep.
Idk how good of advice this is, because its a really strange way of playing back at someone HU and against a competent player (which it obviously isn't) would be really off the wall. When I do what I explained I find that it: increases value you get from hands, and due to your superagro play they will widen up much more (even if they are still min betting, they're calling down more raises.) -
i created a thread on this.
i try not to get frustrated by them, because it can be so damn frustrating lol.
if you play their game then the match will take a rediculous long time, so i just like to shove a lot pre flop and hope to end it quick
