  2. Yes, you played your top set WAY too slow on a huge draw board. Not sure if the flopped the straight w/ 89 or they made the donkey limp w/ Ace suited UTG, but I bet way heavier on the flop and probably ship the turn to go broke.
  3. Oh, plus you're raising their bet after the flush might have gotten there or they're value betting their flopped straight. I probably just call the river as played.
  4. well, I've drank too much...you only had 435 left on the river after their 900 bet, so yeah you have to shove. I had to do the same thing w/ 77 set after a gutshot hit on the river in a tourney the other night. Not enough chips left to fold by that point.
  5. Let me break it down how I was thinking....

Dealt to Archer B [Td Th]
    cwarner62: folds
    bopperman88: calls 100
    kcaz008: folds
    Jonnybegoode: folds
    eyesnake02: folds
    Archer B: raises 200 to 300

Standard raise for me in position with a decent pocket pair.

    frenchy616: folds
    wiggypg: folds
    KookieMonstr: folds
    bopperman88: calls 200
    *** FLOP *** [Tc 7h 6h]
    bopperman88: checks
    Archer B: bets 200

I have just flopped top set. He did not raise preflop but did call. AJ-A2, KQ, KJ, 99-22, something less then that.. he could be on a flush draw or the outside chance of 89 that would beat me.

    bopperman88: calls 200

He just called. Interesting, possible on a flush draw or checked with 2 pair.

    *** TURN *** [Tc 7h 6h] [4c]
    bopperman88: bets 400
    Archer B: calls 400

Is he betting into his flush draw? Probably not, I think he would have post flop also... 2 pair on the flop or turn, hit a lower set, and AT are all in his possible range. I still have him beat and can play it slow and hope for no heart on the river.. even if I come over the top he would still call his flush draw? Going to play some pot control and just call.

    *** RIVER *** [Tc 7h 6h 4c] [Kh]
    bopperman88: bets 900

So the card I didn't want to see hits the river. Did he play a flush draw so awkwardly? Did he over play AK? No, I think he would have raised preflop with it. I really think he is going on 2 pair or a lower set.

    Archer B: raises 435 to 1335 and is all-in
    bopperman88: calls 435

  6. Iso raise 3x plus 1x for the limper. You gave him the odds to play any two cards. On the flop, bet 1/2 pot. It disguises your set and charges the flush draw. He probably lead the turn because your betting pattern looked so weak but if he does lead the turn after a proper betting line, shove the turn.

Draws get there sometimes and you lose, just don't give them the proper odds to draw which means you made the mistake, not them.
  7. 200 on the flop is way too small...into a 750 pot, should be about 400-450.

That makes it an obvious shove into his turn bet. But you should have done that anyway.

^ and raise more pre- get it in on turn, calling for "pot control" is asking for river binkage
  9. Thanks all for the advice. He had 89 off.
