  2. Why the check on the river? Don't you just open yourself up to be shoved on like this and put yourself in an awkward spot?

I think I would have bet 40-50% the pot showing him you're committed and block him from bluffing you like this.

As played, I'm calling off hoping he is trying to bluff you off with his busted flush draw or a weaker ace. Without further knowledge of his style (and your image) I'd probably rule out A5 or A8 from a preflop flatting range. AJ is a possibility but I'd imagine he'd raise the turn with a decent pot on the line and the flush draw out there.

I'm a hack though, so also interested in what others say.
  3. I don't like checking the river there but against a random I'm probably not folding. He doesn't have AK or AQ, probably not AJ. He thinks he's good with any ace, you obv lose to a boat but I think that's just ul if he has A5 or A8. If he has 55 that's pretty ul as well.

    What did he have?
  4. dont know anything about the villain but based on the way he played the hand he looks pretty polarized. i would put him on 55-10s, and Ax hands, don't think he would call 2 streets with many flush draws but its definitelly possible with a hand such as J10dd, KQdd, that he though he had pair outs as well.
  5. nice river for a vbet since aj beats u anyway
  6. nothing to add on the hand but i dont see how people prefer reading the hh thru converter over simple text format that pokerstars provides.

i'd kill a man for text format hhs right now lol.

I was going to say this, too. I hate reading HHs in the OP's format...

Don't understand your logic here.. You want to bet so you block him from bluffing? Don't you want him to bluff?

You are gonna probably get it in anyway here dude.. Think about it... You bet half the pot, he shoves, it's nearly impossible to fold then..

I like a check call here.. allows him to bluff when you are ahead the majority of the time.. Although this time I assume you weren't ahead..

Only hands the J helps are AJ and JJ, very unlikely he has either of those..

As played, I call here vs all but the nittiest players.
