  1. LAS VEGAS – March 19, 2007 – Harrah’s License Company LLC, an affiliate of Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:HET), has executed a non-binding letter of intent to form a digital publishing alliance with Bluff Media LLC for online and radio coverage of all World Series of Poker-branded events on a global basis.

  2. cliff notes pls
  3. Bluff has WSOP rights to the internet for 4 years.
  4. ty beanie
  5. cliff notes = n82 knew what he was doing when he hooked up with bluff

    sherbert ----> nat
  6. how the hell did this happen? How could Cardplayer let this happen?...
so very disappointing that CP isnt the exclusive, and after that copy and paste vid....guess no one at Harras saw that plagerism thing...sad.

    High
  7. Is this the "Coolest Thing Ever"?
  8. "<SPAN>Bluff Media is the publisher of BLUFF magazine, America's leading poker publication"

I think Cardplayer magazine is considered America's leading poker publication. </SPAN>
  9. Cardplayer did not have a choice in the matter. CP is a just an ad rag who sells their cover or whatever someone will pay for. Harrahs wanted a media company.

Cardplayer has the summer off, not so bad for them I guess.

As for positives out of this, I think you will be able to see all the final tables that ESPN doesn't cover, live over the internet.

So if Rizen, Below, etc make any of the prelim final tables (other than the 9 or so ESPN will cover) you will get to see it live.
  10. Nah, Bluff Magazine actually has EDITOR'S...
  11. This can only be good news. Cardplayer's tournament reporters are absolutely awful. I am convinced that they randomly picked a random entrant from a freeroll to report the hands.
  12. We are really excited to align ourselves with the WSOP/Harrahs. As KK stated, you all will be able to experience the WSOP final tables live w/o having to be in LV.

This will be the first year you can both, listen and watch live via the web. We also will have a few surprises that will be introduced this year.

I really believe we are taking tournament coverage to the next level and I hope you all enjoy what we will be producing!

FYI - No, this is not the coolest thing ever!!
  13. its pretty cool though.
  14. Hey, I was one of the tourney reporters for cardplayer.

I did 05 WPT championship and 2005 WSOP.
  15. is that an apology.. ooooor???
  16. The Cardplayer coverage was terrible. I thought that before I worked for Bluff when I was a subscriber to Cardplayer.

It's pretty well known they messed up a ton of the updates and hand histories and did a pretty poor overall job as the exclusive media provider.

That's not to say it's an easy job. It's a very difficult one, and a lot of time and planning will go in to doing it well.

  17. Random cardplayer.com update:

Paul Darden Doubles A player in seat 1 raises to $1,500. Seat 3 calls, and Paul Darden reraises to $5,900 from the button. Seat 1 folds, seat 3 repops to $18,000, and Darden calls all in for his last $16,000. Seat 3 turns over the AJ, and Darden shows the AK. The Q7310J board gives Darden a full house, and he rakes the pot

  18. So all FTs will be covered live with video and audio?

Will there be any coverage of events prior to the Final Table? Say the HORSE or Main Event, possibly? I think it would be cool to be able to see a feature table all day of each day of the main event.

I LOVED watching the WSOP FT PPV last year because it's great to watch this stuff without hole card cams...really puts you in their position. I highly look forward to this!
  19. So cardplayer is going to be doing the WSOP coverage then?
  20. Cardplayer is better tha bluff.
  21. We will broadcast approx 25 final tables via live streaming video. We will do more final tables with radio and web audio.
  22. LOL, glad bluff gets the coverage...

  23. Cool.

I wasn't that happy with CP having it bacause of their sweetheart deal with Full Tilt. It got really annoying reading everything Clonie Gowan did but not mentioning the unnafilliated chip leaders anywhere.
  24. yeah, there won't be any sweetheart deals this year. No sell outs here at Bluff.

No one cares how the "Bluff Family" is doing in a tournament, so we won't be highlighting that.

For the live coverage, all the details on that aren't worked out yet, but if ESPN is covering the tournament, we won't be able to have a broadcast on the web. They have the rights to the "table play" in those events.

The good news is ESPN is only covering 9 or 10 events of the 55 total events. So, we won't be broadcasting the main event, the HORSE event and a few others, but there are plenty of other tournaments people can watch.

Additionally, we will be able to broadcast the ME final table for all circuit events, even if they are on TV. Before anyone says the circuit sucks..hehe.....the $20,000 buy event in London this September should be pretty good. I know there are tons of big name pros going over for that and we will be able to broadcast that event live over the internet. The Las Vegas, New Orleans, Tunica, and AC events aren't too bad, and we will be working with Harrahs to make them even better in 07/08.

P5's feel free to ban me for spam :)....I didn't mean to go into all that detail, but I didn't want questions to go unanswered.......
  25. So does that mean Carplayer will now cut & paste Bluff Mag's coverage updates?
  26. BUT WHAT ABOUT THAT SEMI HOT HO FROM CP? she wont be trollin around the wsop?

  27. yes, CP won't have to worry about anyone copying their updates. If CP has any updates, then there copied because they'll only be one company allowed to do updates, and it's not CP.

Nice little hole they've dug themselves :) Definitely a Christmas card from me to Mr. Belski this year. Nice move sir.
  28. Know that you're 'working out the details' but can you give us an idea of what we're looking at, in the way of cost. Didn't have Sirius last year, was going to get it just for the coverage, but passed when I couldn't get the coverage via the net. I had to use one of their home boxes...

PS, nice dig on the Christmas card, ouch!!
  29. deeb's daughter?

  30. might suck for me, cardplayer included me in their wsop updates last year... was kinda cool.
