I played in a tourney a month ago where the top 5 out of 70 make it to the finals where 70 battle it out for a WPT seat. Well I won my first one and played the finals Wednesday. We start with 5k in chips and 25-50 blinds. In no time at all we here blinds up. 50-100. 20 MINUTES. Next was 100-200 then break. I had my stack to nearly 15k and was feeling very confident. Well after break they went up to 250-500. In 20 minutes they were 500-1000, and after another 20 minutes 1000-2000. Now this is only after 2 hours of play. I still have my 15K and there are 30 people left. As I look around I notice alot of poeple have 6-8K. For the next 20 minutes all you here is ALL IN. 2k-4k blinds next with no one over 25k in chips at my table with 25 left. To me, this is not poker, this was a luck fest. I feel like I was able to control my tables with strategy, but when its all in or nothing, there is no controling. Anyone one else pleyed in this type of qualifier at there local casino? Anyone feel as I do on this tourney?

Yes it's awful. I am a regular at most of the casinos in Tunica, and other than the Horseshoe, all the weekly tournaments are like this. I can't stand putting money into a tournament only to have my entire edge taken away from me by a ridiculous blind structure that's completely geared towards getting everyone back out on the cash tables. It really sucks being at a table with a bunch of weak players and knowing that my only move is all in.
