I called Customer Service a couple times, one time they said the banking issue was resolved, so I resubmitted the check to the bank - that takes 4 days. The second time I called to say I had resubmitted the check and wanted to make sure that the funds were in their account.
They gave me their bank's number and told me I could have my bank call their bank to verify. I haven't done that but I did call the number, it is WuMu which they looked up and found it was Bodog's bank. So, other than the fees hopefully this is resolved. They said I can fax in the bank statment (gotta be sure to black out the banking numbers) with the fees and they'll deposit that into my account, which sucks, but I'm only charged $7 from my bank.
The check's for $500, so we'll see what happens this time. I will update if there's an issue again. For now be wary of Bodog. -
Bodog customer service is a joke - I pay the $150 to withdraw $3k via W.U. so that I don't have to hope a check shows up in 4-6 weeks and clears.
I reported a player yesterday that was telling other people in the middle of hands to check it down repeatedly when a player was all in(Since bodog doesn't turn off chat like every other site when an all in accurs) and their response was that they would look into it - but in the meantime I can mute that specific players chat so it doesn't bother me - Pretty stupid reply considering what i had wrote to them. Their customer service is literally a monkey with a million form letters that they just fill in blanks and hit reply.
Also keep in mind Bodog is #1 enemy of the justice department because of their sports betting. If I was the U.S. government I would want to take down Bodog right as the superbowl was occuring knowing that is prob when they have the most money so keep that in mind. I don't know how the U.S. would do it - but its definitely a risk worth paying attention to.
Their TLB prizes were also just announced. 1st gets $5350 or something like that, 23nd and 3rd get cash as well 2 or 3k i think, and then 4th-100th gets entry into a freeroll. Last year they gave out nice cash prizes for top 10, as well as some type of cash all the way through top 100 i believe. I'd e pretty pissed if I had plowed through volume all year and finished 4th. I've made plenty of money on bodog don't get me wrong - but you should all be aware that I see it going further down the rabbit hole every month and I don't see it ever coming back up. -
I recently cashed out 9k and recieved it in three increments. It took about a month which was also a month earlier than expected. My bank initially told me that the checks were fraudulent so they froze my bank account. After inquiring back and forth with my bank (Wells Fargo) and Bodog we finally figured out the problem. Now, if you happen to have the same bank you might of had the same problem as me.
Here's what happened: The bank does an initial verification of the check, however, when they do that they do not contact the phone number provided on the check. Instead, the do an internet search of the company. Well, when the bank tried to contact "Xpress Solutions" to verify the check, the company said that I didn't have an account with them. I called Bodog and they said that their "Xpress Solutions" wasn't listed under search engines so essentially my bank tried to verify the check through a different company.
On the other hand, My other check was from a bank in Miami linked with a bank in Montreal. I was told flat out by a Wells Fargo banker that the check was fraudulent. Obviously, they didn't know wtf was going on because the funds were later cleared on a Saturday and the a-holes didn't even bother to tell me. So, in my case the errors were on my banks end. And although I did have a bounced check from Bodog last year, they reassured me that there was no problems with their current processors and were very cooperative with me in resolving the matter.
Fwiw- When I got my 3rd check I told my bank to put a hold on the check so it could be properly verified without f-ing up my bank account again. It was also from "Xpress Solutions" but it cleared just fine this time.
Sorry for the rant, but I guess all i'm saying is that you should check thouroughly with your bank to see who is "actually" making the error. And if you have Wells Fargo, be prepared to deal with a bunch of morons.... -
This is why they have a phone number w/ a CSR available 24/7 which no other poker site offers. I am not justifying the fact that the check bounced (obv I have one on the way too plzzz hold one time?), but try utilizing the appopriate resource if you are looking for an immediate answer. Obv you're going to get an automated response when you use email as your support vehicle.

Additionaly, someone in this same thread (Eddie) mentioned the fact that the CSR's are incompetent at times (I agree). However, why not ask for a Manager when it comes to an issue(s) like this? Especially for those that have a proven track record such as yourself!
End result: Utilize your resources! Bodog management has always been pinnacle when it comes to any type of serious issue, or any concern that clearly needs to have a high(er) level of accountability. They execute, and are diligent in doing so. I can not over communicate how comforting it is to pick up the phone and speak w/ someone live about your issue/concern vs. an email client (every other poker site).
These reasons ^^^ are primary factors why I will always be a loyal customer to Bodog... -
I have cashed out a couple times from bodog 11/21 was my most recent one and got it 11/28. Also it was from a canadian bank but since it was payable through a branch in the US( said it right on the check) i was able to cash it right away my bank is Wachovia. Jester I hope your right I love bodog and hope they are on the way back!
I say you start another post on how we can make it better and pass it on to them! -
Believe me I hope your right - I've made plenty there and still play there so don't get m wrong - but when compared with other sites and the way they handle every communication I have with them I just don't see the hope. Guarantees continue to come down and player pools continue to dwindle. Hopefully they wise up and get back to the old bodog I praised endlessly:)
and yeah - you definitely have to give them props for the phone customer service - Its nice to know when they can't correspond by email you can call.
