    I got the email too. We aren't sure at this point why she's saying that or what her sources are, but we're looking to see what we can find out.

    i got a friend that just moved to Costa Rica...if i change my bodog address to his, will my money get out of there quicker? anything wrong with this idea?...i completely trust the guy living in costa

    What I can tell you, without hearing back from AMJ, is that Bodog did have a large set of layoffs about a month ago. We had some concerns and contacted some people we know inside the company, and they have assured us that while they were definitely making personnel cuts that they were not by any means considering shutting down the company.

    Now, of course you have to take that with a grain of salt, but I take the other side with the same. The only person I've heard say bodog was shutting down was one of the people who got laid off, and it was in the same conversation that he was asking me to send a letter to our contacts at Bodog telling them what a mistake it was to fire him. Doesn't exactly sound like an unbiased source.

    I'll update everyone on whatever I hear from AMJ if/when she calls me back.

    If I had money on Bodog I would take it out ASAP. Of course I don't have to worry about that.

    Anyways, when you guys rush to get your $$ out it definitely will be GG Bodog.

    GL on them having the funds to cover the rush to get the money out...This is how many banks fail...At least with most US Banks you are insured to 100K...GG getting your $$ from an unregulated industry located in a third world country

    I do it...I lose my money to a friend when I wanna cash out, give him like $50, and I've got cash in hand from western union in like a week...

    Bodog's located in Canada....not a third world country. Why post with such anger about them? They've given tons of value to players for years, and people have always gotten their money eventually, even if it's taken longer and been more of a hassle than some other sites. They're obviously going through a tough time right now in some ways, but they're available via 800 number 24/7 and aren't "hiding in the shadows" as people seem to think.

    I'm probably (most definitely) stupid and naive... but I've always trusted Bodog.

    I never received the 3k they owe me. And actually they say I owe them $2,500. So ppl dont always get their money eventually.

    Dang so a rumor can shut them down. Sounds like they will have a massive rush of cashouts that will be sure to make the rumors true.

    Hope this isn't true but if it is I think we've all seen it coming for quite a while. I finally cashed out the last of my acct (less than 1k) a couple months ago and still have received no word on that check. It might be gg'd

    I used to have as much as $45,000 on that site but slowly withdrew it all over the course of a year and then blew the last $2000 on NFL parlays :/ I hope it doesn't shut down. As stupid as the three table limit is and as much as it used to lock up and shut down on me, I still loved the tournaments and the 2/3 and 3/6 NL games. SF soft.

    Has anyone received a bodog check recently? as in the last 2-4weeks? I'm waiting on a check from 6/27/08...i believe that's ~45 business days depending on holidays...they are telling me i should receive a tracking # this week....we'll see

    Yes, 6/14 was the day, i recived it 9/2. Cleared right away. But still waiting for the 2nd half of the pay out.

    dont do that, thats how my acct got closed for good, and all my money taken by bodog security like 2 years ago.
