1. Bodog has been sponsoring a series of poker challenges to promote their BodogFight product. Basically - there were 6 qualifying events, and by finishing in the top 30%, you got points accordingly. Per the rules, the top 30% of all people who receive points qualify for a final event, with the prizes being a trip for 2 to a BodogFight event plus some swag, a plasma screen TV, custom poker table or Bodog Poker Chip set w/ autographed gloves (top 5 spots pay). Here is a link to this series:

Well, tonight is the final event and I have qualified (semi-brag). But here's the problem. 97 players got points during this event - two of them Bodog fighters not eligible for the finals. That means that there should be 27 or 28 players in the final event (see rule #5 where it says top 30% who receive points). There are currently 56 players entered into the event.

So the question is - if Bodog has screwed up (and I think they have by allowing twice as many people as there should be) - should the people who qualified according to the rules be compensated in any way. It would be akin to having a leaderboard contest on stars where the top 50 play for 3 WSOP seats, only to change it to the top 100 for those 3 seats at the end of the year.

By the way - if I get close, I am dumping to get the Plasma TV. Screw the swag and fight. I'll get the nice TV and spend $29.99 to buy their PPV (yeah, sure).

EDIT - I already sent them e-mail. They respnoded that they are sending it to their tournament area for clarification on the slection process. IOW - too late to do anything now.

Thoughts? Comments? GTFO?

2. GL Take down 3rd.
3. Resolution - and credit to Bodog for stepping up. Still would like a replay because I played horribly - but its better than nothing.

Dear XXX,

Thank you for contacting Bodog Poker Customer Service.

We would like to inform you that there was in fact an error done on our part when configuring the Bodog Fight Final Tournament. The tournament was set up to allow the top 30% to register when in fact only the top 30 WITH POINTS should have been able to play.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and understand that this did diminish your chances of winning. As a result, we have credited your account with T$48 so that you are able to play in our $20,000 Guaranteed (DS) tournament that we host each Friday and Saturday night at 8:30pm ET.

Again, we are sorry for the inconvenience and wish you the best at the tables!

Regards,

Bodog Poker
