well him playing a womans event is a little ridiculous, although why is there a womans only event? are woman inferior to men so they need to limit the sex that enters? what about white only events? black only events? they should just get rid of this kind of thing to begin with.

who cares about chopping with her - if she was dieing tomorrow it has nothing to do with the tournament - I feel bad for her condition but shes here to play poker not to find someone to help her out in life - I think its lowclass for her to bring up her disease as a way of morally getting him to chop the tournament

well the guy is obviously a jerk but i was playing a cash game at borgata a while and that girl sat down and was ripping everyones play. she went broke pretty quickly but continued to berate everyones play at the table so i dont feel real sorry for her either. and if she needs money so bad whats she doing playing in poker tournaments?

i play in a local charity game and was talking (not about this but about womens touramnents) with one of the older ladie plays. she was playing the one that just passed for foxwoods and I basically asked her if she felt it it was a setback to woman as shouldn't they wanted to be seen as equals.

she basically said that while yes, she loves playing with the boys, she also liked people able to converse with other women at the table and thats it fun to do so when she's able to play in them. for her it was more about being able to "play with the girls" which she doesn't often get to do in a male dominated game

This isnt an 80s underdog movie, if she NEEDED the money, i doubt playing in a poker tourney is the way to go.

I also seriously doubt she went around shaking hands at every table saying 'How are you doing? I have cancer.'

But yeah, the guys a dick, because he obviously didnt need the money either. But here's what I dont get. There are women's athletic events, there are women-only chess events for cash prizes. Why cant there be a women-only poker event? There are enough tournaments at any casino on any given day that loss-of-income doesnt factor in. And Im sure there's no legal writ of 'Because I Wanted To Be A Dick'.

To change the subject, I was actually denied entrance to a deaf poker tourney. To make things worse, I taught my girlfriend's dad(who had never played before) and he won the whole thing.

Having dated 2 poker playing girls, I can tell you it can be VERY intimidating for a cute 23 year old to go sit at a table surrouned by 3 douche bag 23 year olds that brag about how sweet they are while playing 1/2, 3 middle aged men wearing sun glasses who make spiteful comments when said girl rivers a flush on them, and 3 smelly old 70 year olds blowing their welfare check....all the while, as a poster previously noted, being sexually accosted. its cool that the guy won and donated all the winnings (or so he states) but he will forever be a douche for whatever reasons he has for entering it....to prove a point, to make a buck, to show up some women since he hasnt gotten laid in 20 years...idk what it is, but i would be willing to bet most of the women that played were turned off by his presence, let alone victory
