  1. Last night at about 230 am I sat with my hands in my face in front of my computer on the verge of tears. I came in 2nd on the party poker Aussie, and only 90 entered so only 1st got in. The guy who win cracked my KK with A-3 with 5 left, then he picked up KK to my QQ with 4 left, and on the final hand he had me outchipped and called my raise on button with a 7-8, i had 9-9 and flop came 4-5-6...I thought I had it won. It was the ultimate slap in the face and biggest letdown I have had in poker.

Tonight I was a man on a mission as I shredded through the Super Monday and took it down. I had NUTZREALBIG outchipped pretty badly, and the final touble was filled with good competitors. There was almost 1200 in it so it was one of the biggest supers to date, and I think this is a good lesson to not go on tilt and keep believing in your game. In the last couple weeks I have come in the top 20 of the Friday Special and Sat 200k, and also finished 4rd in an NL100 in which i lost with AK to AQ to the other big stack (would have had 66% of chips if i won the hand). PERSEVERANCE SETS US APART!

Now time to take that 37k and pay off all of my freekin' student loans......well, and buy a bunch of booze and get LOADED this weekend

  9. Congratulations,

You knocked me out at #9 w/ quad 8's. I went back this morning to check the results and was glad to see i was taken out by the winner. Enjoy it.
  10. Congratulations! Don't forget to spend a little of that money on massages with "happy endings." Definitely helps you relax and get your head str8 for the next game.
  11. Man, after scanning over that post I made no sense typing that at 4 am.

after working 8 hours today (with only 3 hours of sleep) with an hour and a half of commuting I came home in time for the 7:00 NL100 on party and came in 3rd (350 entries i think, paid 3800) ....I hit a couple of lucky hands near the end, but still played well. Wish I wasn't working so I could make a run at the leader board this week/month...

I did definitely get lucky making a play with A-2, although A-9 called a pretty big bet against a guy who had just shown down Kings from a big reraise from the bb a little while ago. I got lucky a couple times, won the race when I needed it, only lost pots against small stacks, and won the majority of my pots without seeing a flop or getting in with the best hand and it holding up. Getting lucky is half the battle...I saw The Beat go out with AQ to A-7 diamonds, he played it perfect all the way, didnt give the guy (who called from the sb) the odds to call on flop Q-8-8 (2 diamonds) but the guy hit his draw and The Beat was done.

I've always wondered if I was a good player and still criticize myself for a lot of things, and still need to work a lot playing live, but the last 48 hours have been a huge confidence builder.
