I have a 100 dollar bank roll I am going to use for this and play 1 dollar DON's until i get enough to move up in limits.. i plan on running 10-16 tables at a time. Any thoughts if this could be profitable or not.. thanks

interesting concept stanley. can i call you stanley? good. well if we poker stove it then we can prob get the proper equity equations of what we should do here. remember to carry the 0! now after we do this, we have to factor in varience so take off 7.9% off of your number and then take off 12.1% for every 12 hours you will not play per week and we should have a result and definate answer. hope it works!

boi what do you smoke and where can i get it??

It's definately doable. I'm 12 tabling turbo DON's now and then. Never tried 1 dollars only 5-50. The variance is not huge in these so i suggest testing it at 1 dollar, but if it works for you then move up to 5 dollars and maybe keep the table amount down a bit(8?) until you reach like 150 and then up to 10-12 table 5 dollars.

ahhh, this brings me back. thats exactly how i got started, after a few quick runups and cash out on ft, i moved to cake for the rakeback, and i started with just $100 playing only the $5 don's. after about two months of that, only 3 tabling, playing maybe 10-15 a day, i had a starting br for 50nl 6max.

just neat to see someone else doing exactly what i did when i started. good luck to you sir. and yes, the $5 dons (at least on cake, im sure pretty much on any site) are profitable. if you have a good understanding of very basic icm, of don payout structure, theres no need to start at the $1's. theres less variance in dons than in other sngos, so you dont need as many bi's.
nonetheless, good look sir. -
If your confident/competant enough to be running 10-16 tables making good decisions then dont play $1 games.
You'd be better off playing $5 games(its not strictly BR management but still 20 buyins), less tables, concentrate on making the right plays and improving, if your any good you'll win..... -
i built my bankroll up initially through DONs, playing about 4k $5-10 games. it should be relatively easy to do, but i would suggest moving up to the $5 games as soon as possible because
a) they arent that much harder than the $1s
b) the rake is much more reasonable. the rake at the $1s is ridiculous
btw i played solely on pokerstars, im not sure how the games are on cake. honestly once you hit $150-200 id move to the 5s and hope you dont run so horribly you have to move back down -
thanks for all the advise ill post my results.. :)

Are you planning on playing turbos or regular? Regular gives you better chances for obvious reason plus if you can trap ya a fish for his stack early on you can pretty much nurse that $3000 stack to the end of the tourney.
-
personally with a $100 roll i would definitely play something besides $1 dons to build it. GL tho

Even tho the DoNs are less swingy, i think 8 tables with 20bi is way to risky, he should 4 table till 150 then 6 table then at 200 8 table. basically everytime you get another 50bucks in your br add two tables until you reach your max tables you want to play.... and this is different from player to player. My max is 8-12 tables. but basically the point im trying to make is that if you want to multitable effectively then play less tables the smaller your br is and as your roll grows add tables. There is no hurry just focus on playing good and building, because one bad session is almost half your roll.

i use to play dons alot, and HATED my life, really you should honestly think about doing something else, its really frustrasting, try regular sngs or play cash, cash is the best imo micro stakes are easy

Definitely look at Jennifear's articles on D or N if you haven't already:
