He was holding the money for the 4 horses contest where 20 people put up $50 each. He gambled away the money and says now he says he is going to disappear. Why can't this asshole get a job and pay back the money he owes? Anyway, beware of him. I don't know his real name or real email address. If anyone knows how to get these or sees him playing on line, please notify me.
-
what a fcking A-hole,at least im upfront, and i didnt actually STEAL peoples money when i lost what i had..... i got a small shipment from bel0w because of his contest in making an avatar, and then jennicide, shipped for her contest on picking a song..and sadly..and really made me mad, when i lost it, but i did.... but seriulsy. i really think this guy should honestly have some worse punishment for what he did. why couldnt he have waited, played out of his own br, and at least sent some of the money back, i seriulsy do not know why someone would hold for this big of a fcking bet, then go to the tables and donk it off, and then come back and say he quits, hes gonna leave. i dont even know the words to describe that kind of a person.
-
and sry i really dont think he'll send it. hes a full blown scammer from what i see.
-
similar to going to a bank and robbing 1K, i wonder if he cashed any of it out?
-
IP CHECK?
-
Karma is a bitch...
-
i really hope he gets it up the a$$ for this. though im pretty sure nothing can be done about it :(
-
The reason he doesn't return the money is simple. He's a thief. No thief worth his salt is going to return that which he has stolen.

This pisses me off to no end! I just checked his sharkscope and he played a few $20-$30 SNGs today.....then he played a $109 HU SNG which he lost......then a $500 HU SNG which he lost. It is so pitiful because most of the ppl on this site are honest, but it is douchebags like this that ruin friendly bets for everyone!
-
So sick.
-
Seriously, why does this keep happening? Why do people keep sending money to people who have been members here for a couple of months.
From now on only people that are top 20 ranked players should hold money or very well known big money players.
In fact I would go so far as to submit my name and address to the admins here and my telephone number to the admins if other contest needed someone to hold money. I dont see why any person wanting to hold money for the contest would not do the same. They should send name and address and have their phone verified ( home phone) this might put a damper on how brazen these thiefs are.
Why not set up a list of 5 or 6 players here willing to hold money and are willing to have their addresses and numbers verified. Of course the admins may not want to be involved in this but some how , some way players would be able to verify money holders well ahead of time.
I have never participated in one of these contest and I have spotted many would be scammers. I just get bad feelings about these people and have a sick feeling every time there is a contest. Some kind of verification system would ease a lot of peoples minds, and save a lot of people money.
Its time to put a plan in action to stop the scammers or its time to end the contest. -
It sucks that this happens. But there have been hundreds of contests on this site.. Whether it be monthly TLB contests or Nightly Last Longers and pretty much 99% of them go off without a hitch. So you really dont want to discourage these contests from happening as it seems to add a little bit of excitement to the games and to the site. I really dont think the Admins want to get involved with things like this.. I guess its just like in Poker Trust your reads based on the information your given. Im sure noone is going to have any problems with GBMantis holding money for a contest. But if you want to do Micro contests your going to be dealing with 'lesser known unranked players' like myself. So go with your gut.
-
Well people gut keeps being wrong, Yes most contest go off without a hitch. Most of those are when a very well known player holds though, I dont see why several trustworthy or long standing members would object to sending their name, address and telephone number to several people, It wouldnt even have to be an admin. You could get them to send the info to 4 or 5 top ranked players and have them verify the phone numbers and cross check it with the address. By doing this it would also be understood that the info would be given out or publicly displayed for all to see.
I understand that this would not totally stop scamming if someone wanted to take the risk of recieving visitors because I have seen people who recieve shipped items scam people. However if 4 or5 people took the responsibility to hold bets every time then the chances of scams would decrease dramatically.
All I care about is that people quit being scammed on this site, That is the one and only problem that keeps popping up here. A few safeguards couldnt hurt. I realize a lot of you are gamblers be geeze, do you think go with your gut is good advice? -
I'd be willing to hold the money for stuff like this in the future occasionally, it really pisses me off to see people ruin fun sidebets...

apestyles is an instructor at PocketFives Training . To get more of his advice and to watch his training videos, click here.

How about some how coming up with a p5's account on stars (if stars will let us). Adam would be in charge of this and 1-3 times weekly he can be notified of who to send the money to and what amount. I cant imagine pokerstars having a problem with this due to the sure volume of players here that play there. Im sure they have many more accounts that are less usefull than that one would be.
Or just find one player willing to do this. This would be one big named player. Very big! Someone who could not need this money at all no matter how bad they ran. -
i'm not even involved in this and it still pisses the shit out of me... don't fucking partake in a contest if you haven't heard of the guy holding...
first the y= mx+b guy steals like 2k, then this guy steals whatever...
i agree that there should be some sort of list of people that have successfully held sidebets so future bets, like micro mayhem and 4 horses bets can be done worry free. -
You guys are failing to realize that I have successfully run this sidebet every Sunday that I was available to do so....It just so happened that this Sunday I logged on a little late, and this other dude had beat me to the punch. I am very capable of holdng the $$ for this, as many can vouch for me...
No one really questioned this guy's credibility at all on Sunday because his name was similair to mine, so people prolly mistook him for me since I usually run this.... -
I think they all understand that his name confused several people. However this is a common ploy used by scammers. Use similar names to make people think they are someone else.
I have never actually even done one of these contest. It just irritates me to see this happen again and again. A new way to scam will come up again and again as long as random people are collecting money and money is being sent to people they dont know.
Apestyles has already agreed to hold money for contest. Its pretty nice because he wouldnt likely be in some of these contest. How about some other known players make the offer.
Mbus I am sure you are fine holding money. Im sure 95% of the people here are fine also. There will always be a small % who are going to scam and steal though. It is nothing against anyone personally. I just think safeguards should be in place and everything should be done to make the a rarity instead of such a common occurance. -
How about create a black list for people who do this sort of scamming. Have a link to it on P5s site. It's only going to get worse as online poker continues to grow.
-
Misterizx, you're taking it a bit too far though.
I understand your concerns and they are valid for the most part, but you don't need to go so far as to have only 5-6 people who will hold money for every single bet on here.
Mbus has been involved in this since we started it in April, and is a trustworthy person.
Rather than only trusting "big name players", it should come down to people that have run these things before and know a lot of people. You don't have to be ranked to know a lot of people and have past experiences with them. With that said, Mbus28 is more than capable of running this bet in the future. -
I guess the moral of the story is
Shit happens, try to stay out of the shit -
Don't trust people you don't know with your money. MBus28 is legit and can be trusted, it's unfortunate that another guy with a similar name had to take advantage of this fact.

I think that their was a little bit of confusion here as well. MBus has been doing a great job running this sidebet sense April. I won this one week and was paid immediately. When I first looked at the post this Sunday, I had to look at the post twice to realize that this was Bus23 running this and not MBus due to the name similarities.
-
people that do this shit are scumbags, im holding $1200 currently and obv i havent run off and played $500 hu sngs, most people dont run off with the money, like mbus and nammy, but it only takes one scammer/lowlife to ruin alot of fun. its more of the principle of the matter than anything else, because $50 or $25 or w/e isnt going to kill anybody's bankroll that is playing in these contests, just makes them less appealing
-
I say you get that guy who sniffs out personal data and have him post the name, addy, phone number etc... of the scammer.
Kind of like he did for nl pro. -
I'd like to do that. I'll bet he's some punk kid who used his daddy's account to get on in the firstplace. I'd go to his mother to get the money back.
