I was wondering if any of you buy in short on multi tables and if that stragety has worked for any of you long term. I see it a lot in the six max tables I like to play in. They buy in the for the minimum and get it in preflop all in most of the times on flips, does anyone know anybody that this has worked for long term? Just wondering on this one

No sorry , let me clarify, cash games , I see people buying in for the minimum lets say on a $1/$2 they buy in for 40 on a bunch of tables. Then most of the time they get it in preflop. Does this stragety work for anybody, I have seen it a lot especially on ftilt.

The people that do this bother me for some reason, though they are generally super tightwad rapable nits. But at the levels I play (primarily 50nl on FTP) the players that employ this short-stacking strat are all on net losers. I have yet to encounter a short-stacking "reg" that has a positivie winrate in my db or on PTR. To me it's just dumb to do this at the mid/low stakes cash tables because you can win more by just taking advantage of other player's mistakes with a deeper stack.
That said, I am aware of some very good players that have surprisingly high winrates that use this strat. I think a dude that plays the high stakes games on FTP does this short-stacking stuff too, but I can't recall his name atm. The nosebleed people all hate him lol. -
it's just a style of play, obviously there is nothing innately profitable or not profitable about it, it just depends on if u know how to short stack and others know how to play against the short stack
